  1. Very nice, I never knew this scheme existed until Airfix used it!
  2. Now this looks lovely, I’ve been looking at picking one of these up, looks like I might have to! Ian
  3. Absolutely amazing, I can’t believe how small that is but how you’ve finished it, looks so detailed! Ian
  4. Thanks Matt I appreciate your comments, I went with a darker wash, maybe a little too dark this time but I know for next time! Ian
  5. Just finished this one. I really like the newer tooled Eduard Fw 190, this went together like a dream. The only tricky bit I encountered was the upper instrument panel and the cover. Managed to get this finished in less than two weeks. I’m no photographer as you can tell by the pictures but let me know what you think, good or bad! Ian
  6. Hi Seventysecond That’s perfect, duly ordered. Thank you so much! Ian
  7. I’m not sure that sharp is the word I would use to describe the root, it’s anything but that!
  8. I never use primer, always use acrylics exclusively, never had an issue with paint lifting on any parts, clear or otherwise.

I must be lucky, every time I come out of Clifton’s Curios with just paint, she says, “why haven’t you bought a kit, you should get one while your in there”.
  10. I’ve closed up the cockpit on mine tonight, and although I’ve added Brassin bang seats, only because I had them available, I have to agree with Julien, it looks fine. It’s a tremendous kit, it’s gone together amazingly so far, better and quicker than any Phantom I’ve ever built.
  11. I’ve started mine, and all I can say is, it’s lovely, Mike is right, it’s crying out to be built!
  12. My goodness, this is lovely, what a superb finish!
  13. Can anybody recommend a good airbrush workbench holder/stand please? I’ve realised airbrush work might be easier if I’m not balancing the airbrush on paint jars, my knees or between my teeth😂 Thanks in Advance Ian
  14. That is superb, it’s not normally an aircraft I’m interested it, but these builds are changing my mind.
  15. I once bought a Tamiya 1/48 Fw-190 F8 from eBay, purchase price was less than retail for the kit alone, however in it were; Eduard canopy mask, Eduard photo etch cockpit set, master barrels and some resin wheels, none of it advertised in the listing!
  16. To be fair, you’re comparing apples to pears and it all depends on what you’re after. Tamiya 1/32 aircraft are excellent value for money, in terms of options, detail, fit, finesse and engineering and the sheer amount of time needed to build them. The Revell Hurricane is also excellent value for money, fairly cheap, simple to build and will make up an impressive model when finished, but Revell 1/32 aircraft and Tamiya 1/32 aircraft are at opposite ends of the spectrum. As I said, It all depends what you’re after.
  17. Yeah, he did say it’s not the quickbuild.
  18. Just snagged a Tamiya 1/48 F-4b for £49.99 from The Model Centre.
  19. I was really excited for this kit, however I’m disappointed, at a price of £50.00 this should be better, and that’s the only reason I’m persevering with it.
