  1. Looks a bit of alright to me! 👍 They would have problems with those engine's over heating though. One day I'll tackle mine! Martin
  2. Absolutely superb to see a Freedom Fighter completed like this. Love that colour scheme, just like the one hanging upside down in the Soesterberg museum. Another one I must build! 🙂👍 Martin
  3. Another one to add to your list, an essential visit if in Norwich is Langleys in the Royal Arcade. Always well stocked & worth a visit. They have Airfix Revell Tamiya all subjects, & good stocks of paints, tools etc.
  4. Well clearly the result of Chinese designers trying to pretend that they didn't steal anything!
  5. Cheers Darryl, thanks for your comments regarding the mud & splashes nice to have some objective crit, especially as I'm a little unsure. I agree it could do with a bit more of a spray of matt, it's possible I grabbed my home made satin by accident! 😊😊😊 Cheers mate! 👍
  6. Very nice! So that's how the Fujimi kit looks when it's done. Looks like a very nice kit & you've made good work of the weathering to that grey scheme. Martin
  7. That is one impressive model build! I am in awe! Superb alclad painting on that! The ground clearance of those tanks on the Thunderflash/Streak was minimal at best of times & looks like you've got it just right. Martin
  8. Very nicely done! Takes me back many years as this must have been my very first helicopter about forty years ago. And those Wolfpak decal sheets do have some nice subjects. Martin
  9. Excellent, like that knickname! Is that what they were known as? Cheers! Martin
  10. Many thanks stevej60 much appreciated. I think it's the best on offer, but I reckon good things could be made of the Heller kit as well.
  11. Cheers mate! The Fujimi kit isn't too bad considering its vintage. Thank you! 😊 Cheers! 😊
  12. After many years, I had this funny twinge. Eyes twiching, involuntary spasms & visions of mud, loads of weathering & tank tracks. So it all came to a head when I sent the scouts out to hunt me down a Tamiya 1/35 Leopard 2A6 at the Peterborough show. While I was doing the usual normal stuff like looking for appropriate 1/72 things with wings on Stuart found me the cure for my secret craving. A nice Tamiya 1/35 Leopard 2A6 for £25.00! Thankfully the previous owner had stashed away some photo etch & a replacement aluminium barrell. Now I do like tanky things but to me these Leopard 2A6's are how a tank should look, much like a Ford Granada Mk.II looks like a real car! Every car after 1985 just looked wrong. It was great fun to build, no proplems going together whatsoever & the moulding on the barrell halves were so good it looked as good if not better than the relacement gun barrell. For the paints I used Ammo Mig paints & for the weathering I used some washes & pigments from Ammo. I also added some wire to represent chains for the flare discharger caps & added some broom bristles for the whip arials. Like I say this is basically my first tank in about 40 years, so when it came to tackling the rubber tracks which came with the kit I wasn't sure if I should prime them first then paint & give them the wash treatment. I actually attacked them first with the Ammo Mig Tracks Wash first which dried into the rubber & gave it the base colour. I then went at them with Mig "Earth" then left that to partially dry & added some pigment to them. I finally sprayed an acrylic matt on the tracks to seal them in. Well it worked & looked fine to me! Weathering of the superstructure & the turret I used some panel line washes & some oil spot filtering. I'm not sure if I did too much or too little to be honest, but it didn't look too bad through the lens of the camera. Got a few more wingy projects to go through & at some point I will have to make a nice diorama base for it, later... Thanks for looking, now I've got to decide on another similar subject. I like modern heavy tracked vehicles & was looking at possibly doing the Ariete which does look similar to the Leopard. Martin
  13. My latest completed.... Well I did actually finish this a couple of weeks ago but I'm terrible at pointing the camera at my models for some reason. Good at pointing the camera at real planes whenever I see them, funny that! German Air Force Alpha Jet 41+39 JBG43 NATO Tiger Meet - Kleine Brogel 1985 This is the Fujimi 1/72 kit. It has some nicely represented panel lines but in other areas comparable to old Matchbox kits. Extremely basic cockpit & very thick clear one piece canopy. I did have a Pavla vacform canopy intended for the Heller kit but in the end decided to use the kit canopy & took the razor saw to it & cut it up into sections. As I needed to reinforce where the canopies are attached, I drilled & attached brass rod to represent the telescopic canopy rams, this made for a secure support and attachment. I added side consoles from scrap plastic & used Pavla MBB Stencel ejection seats. The only thing I should have addressed was the arrestor hook which looks like a walking stick attached to the rear end, which I might sort out at a later date when I can be bothered! For decals I used a HaHen decal sheet (Thanks Harald if you're looking!) which provided the cockpit decals & fitted nicely. His German Air Force Alpha Jet decal sheet had everything I needed for this particular airframe which attended the 1985 Tiger Meet at Kleine Brogel. Photographic reference from; "The 25th Anniversary NATO Tiger Meet" Coen Van Den Heuvel & Jac Van Tuyn Osprey/Motorbooks International An obligatory Master brass pitot was used as well as some brass tubing for the Mauser gun. All paints used were from the Hataka paint range, Mig PLW wash & Xtracrylic matt. Thanks for looking
  14. Superb work! Love that cockpit & the detail on the seats.
  15. Stunning work Moa, & love that racing green flawless finish! I think to the eyes of a 1/72 sized person those font corners would look a little rounded! It looks fine to my eyes!
  16. Fantastic work Tony! Another superb build & very nice to see one of these SH Sunderlands done. Fab work with the painting as always!
  17. Fantastic work masking & painting. The only way to go to with scheme. Only question, was that yellow text on the stabilisers on the decal sheet? I thought for a moment that you masked for them. Excellent video of them painting the actual thing.
  18. Bad kit then? If so gives rise to the question, why doesn't KP just release decal sheets instead?! 😉
  19. Totally new to building tanks, normally addicted to wingy things. Your Leopard C2 looks really nice & nice to see some info of the Canadian version of the early Leopards. Something I really know next to nothing about. Just finished the Tamiya 2 A6 which I think was a really nice model to start on. Martin
  20. I'm a big fan of these, one of the best looking helicopters ever. I regret not going up to Mildenhall often enough to see them. Your build looks superb! Martin
