One thing I would like to know is if I can build a normal B29 out of Academys KB29 kit. I know it will miss the bomb bay. Buteverything else should be there, right?

I just noticed that the Bf109G1-14 joy pack is out of stock according to the AZ homepage. is that permanent, or will it return in a while?

What I really want to know is if I can directely order from AZ when the G12 and K4 are out? I would take 5 each and a bunch of the G2-14 joy packs, also the KPM S199s...

I agree, I am very much looking forward for the G12 and K4 to hit the shelves. Please do the early ones one day. I really like the Heller B/C, but a new one imho really is needed, those kits are around 40 years old by now.

But aren't they also rather well known for some serious fit problems? The Cowl seems to cause a lot of problems.

Best kits imho are: Swiss 109 if you want both canopy types G4 as it allowes you to build any G1 up to the tall tailed G6. Only lacks the Erla canopy for the G14 but comes with the early weels and MG17 covers.

I just got the versions coming with 2 canopies. The solid sprues are all the same anyway. The "Swiss Air Force" boxing as an example contains both canopies.

Back to the topic ( which is AZ/Admiral/KPM etc) I recently got a few kits on ebay, one of the boxes was the 109 joy pack containing 3 kits to build G2-14 109s. To my surprise they did include just 3 canopies. 2 heavy framed ones and just one Erla canopy. Kind of sucks, as I wanted to build a bunch of G14's as they are my favorites.

Any idea when the G12 will be out? And I would love to get 3 Bf109G joy packs and some S199s. Not sure how as the local hobby shop has zero AZ/PKM kits :/

I wsa thinking about getting all my tall tail 109G6/14 from AZ and the 109G10 and K4 from Finemolds. But my last Japan trip was not so great when it came to them. I got mostly G2s. As long as I do not have to use a ton of putty and have to trim a lot I am fine. I heard about the nose shape problem, but I will survive that one.

I always was under the impression that even the new Airfix Bf109G actually belongs into the trashcan as it is even 2 levels worse than the Italeri 109G. Which really means BAD. Not even the decals are usable as they are incorrect ( at least the italian markings are completely wrong ) I got an small box Heller 109G a few weeks ago on Ebay. Imagine my expression when I opened the box and found the 50's Airfix kit in there. :/ so, I wonder how good are the AZ actually? How well do they fit anyway. I got a bunch of them, but have not tried one as I still got a LOT of Finemolds, Hasegawas ( old and new ), Heller (all versions except F ) and go thru them first. As far as I know you love or hate them, nothing in between. Anyone who actually build one knows better. Please give me some input.

I have also heard that their 1/72 tail unit for the Zvezda Ju88G is a 1:1 copy of the kits unit and not an upgrade/fix at all. If that is true, I do not know

In the last couple weeks I got a metric ton of the AZ Bf109Gs ( and 2 KPM S-199s ) I just wonder if the G12 will ever show up on Ebay as I really would love a few of them. They are great little kits btw. I just hope they will fall together as nicely as the kit looks.

I can not help you with the R2 as I can not compare it with the G1 ( not having an R2, while I did snatch 3 G1 and a A4 ) But I am hoping too that they will ultimately bring out a 188. Cheers Abe
