Hi Peter, we tended to ensure the HDU and surrounding areas were kept clean and in fact, they very rarely got dirty. John aka XVTonker

Hi, I have one of Aircraft in Miniatures Blue Danube given to me by Neil Gaunt. The model is a single piece resin moulding which is more accurate than the Airfix injection moulded part and is a gem of a part XVTonker

The HDU and internal fuselage areas, including the bomb bay tanks were painted gloss white. I spent many hours climbing over, and working on the HDU during my six years working on Victor K.2's on 55 & 57 Sqn's.I XVTonker

A couple of new additions to the ladder portfolio. 1. TSR.2 in 1/72 and 1/48 scale 2. Supermarine Swift in 1/72 Examples of the crew ladder in use For all of you RAF Phantom followers, I'll be starting on crew ladder sets in 1/32, 1/48 & 1/72 very shortly. XVTonker

Anything would be a starter John. I'll PM you XVTonker

Some jacks were generic and for use on multiple types. If I remember rightly the ones for the RAF & RN Phantoms were American and specific to the Phantom. XVTonker

I'm looking for the jacks that were used on the likes of the Canberra, Jaguar, JP, etc. I've got several Topic 1 AP's for various types but the information is pretty vague, and my memory of manhandling the flaming things under various aircraft, especially the Victor, makes me break out in a sweat just thinking about it 🤣 XVTonker

Thanks for that, I'm looking for as many of the three legged versions that were used on the likes of the Canberra, Jaguar, JP, etc Any info would be extremely handy. Thanks again XVTonker

A bit of a weird one, but can anyone point me in the direction of where I might be able to get technical data, Air Publications, dimensions, etc of the various types of post-war aircraft jacks? Many thanks for looking XVTonker

Which BS? Hemp color for wide body aircrafts of RAF during 80's
xvtonker replied to clumsy's topic in Aircraft Cold War
As our Victor K.2's were repainted from green/grey/white they were referred to having been painted in Hemp/Light Aircraft grey therefore, I would go with the BS381C as the preferred document. XVTonker -
Working on them as we speak...😂🤣 John

I'm currently printing off the 1/72 versions and as soon as I have copied of all three scales I'll let everyone know and will post on the For Sale page. XVTonker

Morning everyone, here are some pictures of the pre-production print of a 1/32 EE Lightning crew ladder I've put together. Plans are to produce the ladder in 1/48 and 1/72 as well.

The Victors also deployed on Op Granby in their standard hemp/light aircraft they scheme, the same as the Nimrods. XVTonker

As requested, here are the pictures of XV241 taken at Muharraq, Bahrain in 1990 XVTonker

Yes, I've been on this site and some of the images of Buccs, Jags & Tornado's are attributed to me. XVTonker

It did and thank you. Purchased one direct from China and it only took a week to arrive. ChiTu also said that the replacement screens should be available over here by the end of the month. Thanks again XVTonker

All back up and running again. Purchased a new LCD screen from ChiTu and, after viewing a number of You Tube videos it took me about 20 minutes to change. One word of warning though. The LCD screen is mounted onto a glass sub-screen. Initially I removed both the LCD and glass screen as a single unit. Fortunately they are only held in position with double sided tape. The actual LCD screen is only about 3 mm thick and they advise you to use a hair dryer as a heat source to soften the adhesive. Something I wish I had done. I've now gone and got me a mono LCD Mars 2 machine as well as the Mars 2 Pro as it also has the same mono LCD screen and build plate as the Pro so it will be interesting to compare results. XVTonker

Yeah, I've looked at their products and would love to have a closer look at some. What I'm trying to do is produce ladders that include elements like the strengthening plates, bolts and hollow steps that many don't include. Thanks for the link XVTonker

I'm looking for dimensions of a couple of aircraft crew ladders, particularly the Hawker Hunter & DH Sea Vixen. Any information will be gratefully received. XVTonker
