  1. I added a Pavla cockpit set. It is a nice set and I would probably get more of their stuff. I used the kit PE instrument panel with the resin. Thanks for looking and all comments are welcome. Wayne
  2. That looks really nice. I like the weathering. Wayne Beattie
  3. This was a long build. It took me almost a year to finish. I used a resin cockpit and nose from R&R Models in Australia. Mike Grant Decals and Model Master Acrylic paint. With this build I stretched my skills to add stuff to the kit to make it look better. I made the windscreen between the cockpits, added 2 braces that I had seen in pictures, I replaced the bump on the back right hand side with a syringe bent to the right angle. I boxed in the trailing edge of the wings and the underside of the wing root. Used a sewing needle for the pitot tube in the nose. Made the FOD covers from plastic sheet. Added brake lines to the main landing gear. Thanks for looking and all comments are welcome. Wayne
  4. Thanks guys for the comments. Really appreciated. Wayne
  5. Thanks guys. The Hasegawa kit is very easy to build. The only trouble that I really had was the node. Not sure if it was me or the kit. (Most likely me) I want to build another but this time detail the hell out of it in a desert scheme. Wayne
  6. Totally built out of the box which is something different for me because I am always adding seat belts or resin of some sort. Painted with Model Master acrylic. Weathered with oils and Mig Black soot. It placed 3rd in a local contest. All comments welcome. Wayne Beattie
  7. Ugly yes.. but in a nice sort of way Wayne
  8. It's been awhile since I have posted anything. I haven't worked on the Wyvern for a bit. I finally got the fuselage together. I am working on the wings. The joint between the outside panel and inside wing is a bit of a Sorry. I can't use that language here. Will post as soon as more work is done. Wayne Beattie
  9. Just found this. The pit looks great Mike. I would love to get my hands on a Jaguar. Good luck with the rest of the build. Wayne
  10. The top part of the housing look to be steel or aluminum and the bottom, if you added some gold to aluminum you might get a close color. Here is a picture of what I think your talking about. The top and the bottom halves are two different shades. Hope this helps. Wayne
  11. There are several shades of metal if you are looking square on the front. The top looks to be either steel or aluminum and the bottom part is a gold or a light bronze color. I have scanned a section from the Verlinden Lock-on No.8 for you to see. I have highlighted what I am talking about. If you want I can email the entire page that I scanned. I hope it's alright to post the picture. If not I will remove it. Wayne
  12. From what I can see from the Verlinden Lock-on of the F-4E the radar box looks like a light metallic color. If you painted it aluminum or steel I think that would do. Wayne Beattie
  13. I've never heard of Compass Rose. It must be British. The Dynavector kit is what got me interested in the Wyvern. A modeler brought one to a local contest a long time ago and I was hook on the plane ever since. When CA announced they were making one I tried to get one but couldn't get my hands on one. Then I saw the Trumpeter kit at a hobby shop in Halifax, Nova Scotia at a fair price so I grabbed it. I am going to repaint the IP all black. I don't think I did a good job painting it the first time. I'll just have to be careful with the acetate instruments already in place. Wayne
  14. Nice work Mike, I painted my IP that way because I read the article in Model Airplane International (March 2007 issue) and the guy who built the Wyvern did his IP that way. Black center panel and grey outer edges. Don't even mention photoetched stuff to me. We do not agree. If I can find a resin detail set I will get that. Photo-etch forget it. Wish I could but I just ruin everything I try. Yours looks great so far. Wayne
