  1. Thank you all for the kind words. When I build the model I did some research and was told by several former RAF personal that they were some Austins is RAF blue. As Tamiya, I used the restored Tilly as reference because it was the only vehicle available for close inspection in RAF colors. The diorama idea came from an old photo showing RAF soldier hanging RAF propaganda posters in countryside using a bicycle, I just replaced the bicycle with the Tilly. I have a RAF figure that will go with the diorama. Kallisti, For making ropes I use small ropes used for wood ship models, they are great and look realistic. I place them and than put a small amount of CA of make them stronger and fixed to place. For tie down straps I use a regular 80 gram paper, like than paper used in every regular home printer. using a sharp knife, I cut small straps and apply them to the model using a very small amount of CA just at the tip, than shaping it as i want and using a toothpick, I go over it with CA. Another way, if the straps are applied to a plastic model, I use 0.10 mm polystyrene sheet for the straps and apply it to the model with liquid poly glue. Sincerely, Nissim

  8. Hi all, This is my Tamiya 1/48 British light utility car 10HP (Austin Tilly) that I finished few months ago. I add scratch build parts to give it a more realistic look. For general painting I used Humbrol enamels and used oils, carbon chalks and some pigments for weathering. The cobblestone section is made via Photoshop, printed in a laser printer, and the fence is made using balsa wood. Jerrycan and barrel are from Tamiya, the fruit crate is scratch build and the posters were printed to scale. I hope you like it.
