  1. That’s what I was aiming for. It looks better in the flesh to be honest. The photo is a bit washed out. Thanks
  2. Why does it need to be rigid? Use the toy stuffing as above, form it into a layer, then support it on a fine wire armature which in turn is attached to your backdrop. If you wanted to firm it up I’d use cheap hairspray.
  3. My first SF subject I’ve ever built. But one I’ve always just fancied building. The kit went together REALLY well . The location pegs , slots etc were so accurate that glue wasn’t needed on much of it. So after two evenings work (10 hours roughly) I had a finished AT-AT. No it’s no movie standard , exhibition worthy example. But I enjoyed it! 😁 Base layer of Hycote rattle can white primer. VERY light only. Then some black wash, panel definition and general grubbiness. Then finished with another coat of rattle can white, powders , and Matt lacquer aerosol.
  4. Great composition and quality work. But Sheez…. Way too small a scale for me these days! 😮 35th is small enough for me these days. 😂 Well done. 👍
  5. I’ve found a layer of polyfilla or similar then dried quickly will naturally produce surface cracks. Which you can fill in with gloss black to look like poured tar. Then you can scrape little bits out to look like potholes etc. Or let it dry naturally for a smoother tarmac. Obviously paint to personal taste! 😁
  6. Looking good so far. it’s a great hobby. You’ll find you’ll learn new things, get interested in other subjects, try different techniques and like you say, walk away when you need to! Crack on mate.
  7. Outstanding! I hate you…! 😂
  8. Whatever happened to that stuff? Has it been discontinued? If so , what’s a good alternative these days?
  9. That’s brilliant. Great job. Well done.
  10. Ooh that’s big! (As the actress said to the bishop…) love it.
  11. I recently built a Model T field ambulance and that was brilliant. Went to get like a dream. As far accuracy goes, that’s very much a secondary consideration to me. “Close enough is good enough” for me.
