Can anyone shed any light on this Stug III variant??
It doesnt appear to be the early C/D variant as theres no recess for the gunners sight
It obviously has an add on armour kit and the casemate opening has been blanked off (but no schutzen). It looks to be some sort of observation vehicle but the image is so poor can't identify any aerials etc. (the line behind the vehicle is a pole of some form)
I randomly came across aftermarket parts to replace the gun and mantlet and produce something similar but have never been able locate the supplier again.
Does anyone know of any other images of gun-less Stug's that has details of how the casemate could be blanked off? (there are a couple of other images on Scalemates - but either distant or side views which don't help. There is a Stug image in an article about post war mine clearing in Denmark that shows turret schutzen inserted in the aperture)
