Harrier FRS1 - Hasegawa 1/72nd Scale
Jim Sotiropoulos replied to TRUSKY1965's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Very nice model mate !!! Harrier is one of the most beautiful aircraft in the world in my personal opinion. I admit I'm a Harrier lover -
The same here mate. Flanker's price is HOT ! I agree with pigsty that ICM's might be difficult and have fit problems. But i assume this is the problem with big intakes and molding this "type" of kits is weird. Example the F-14 in any scale whoever build it says ....

Hi Ed if the photo above is this ..... http://www.infobarrel.com/Media/MiG-25_Cockpit ......then i think someone put a wrong title to the photo because this is the front cockpit of Mig-31 Foxhound with MFD (Multi function display) on the right. And i don't see any HUD (Head up display) in Mig-25's. And from the photo i see that the ejection seat handles is from Zvezda K-36 and not KM-1 seat that Mig-25 have. I think the title is wrong. In the end of this link you going to see the Mig-31 cockpit that is the same ..... http://www.ausairpower.net/TE-Foxbat-Foxhound-92.html Maybe i'm wrong but it is not Mig-25 cockpit in this photo. For the color as Don says Testors 2135 is ok and White Ensign ACSM07 aslo fit.

Hi folks this is my latest build. I love this bird very much it is one of my favorites I like the shape of the delta wing and overall design. Dassault surely build one of the most beautiful aircraft back to those days. Sometimes I’m thinking ….."i’m going to build this aircraft with this paint scheme" ….. but this time thoughts come to end. I stop all other builds and grab it from my tons of models that wait and start building it like a 5 year old boy with his new toy. I enjoy so much the construction the only thing it puzzled me was the join of the two halves of the fuselage. Eduard’s kit is tricky. I do a dry fit of the parts and I see that I have two bananas to join and not 2 halves . I star glueing from the back to the cockpit in front. And i lost the decal with number 259 that goes to the front door of the wheel that's why you don't see it The other part of the construction was easy. I paint with Testors enamels. The decals was amazing ! ….no sign of silvering. The final result of decals was like I paint them. That’s all folks ……..uploading photos …………………

Airfix BAC Strikemaster 1/72
Jim Sotiropoulos replied to Jim Sotiropoulos's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
After a long period off rest the bird finally painted and waits the gloss coat and decals to apply. I read here and see that Airfix gives black roundels and i was decide to put the blacks .......but lately i try to print my own decals and i put the roundels for the provost to. If the result is good i'm going to use them if is not good ........ i don't know i see.In the upper left corner is the roundels of the provost. I hope until the end of the month to be completed. -
Little-cars thank you for the advise you have both right. Today i test again with Gunze color and add retarder to. The results was great but there was another issue to. Maybe you here it extreme but Crescendo need pressure ! I set the pressure to 3 Bars ! and the line came out very nice ....when i set 2.5 or less the result isn't so good. In medium tip no need for that high pressure i spray with 1.5-2 bar. As you say the combination of coarse color and "low" pressure for this airbrush is not proper. Thank you folks.

Hello people Here is my last construction that i enjoy so much because of his weird shape. The construction was easy and start to paint imidietly. With a fast search i could not find what was the color of the whippets and to tell you the truth i didn' care because i want to build it right away and thus i "trust" the cover of the boxart and decide to paint it green. I start using Tamiya XF-11 J.N. Green as a base because it is dark. Then with XF-67 Nato Green i spray for more greenish effect. Continuing with thinned Gunze H52 Olive Drab and finally with very very thinned XF-4 Tamiya Yellow Green only the centers of panels. Then wash with oils and some "dirt" coat with Testors dark tan for the mudish look. Thinking to apply big amounts of mud i didn't because emhar have very nice detail on the kit and it was pitty to lose that.

Thank you peebeep maybe you have right .... i spray testors enamel paint ......i'll try to thin more the paint to see the reaction because now you mention it i remember that the needle edge gathers much paint and clean it time to time with a Q-tip.

Hi everyone i own a Badger 175 Crescendo and so far i haven't any problem with medium and large tip configuration. Yesterday for the first time try to spray with the fine tip and the problem is that sometimes bubbles came out from the paint cup. Not a lot but one every second roughly. I check if the regulator was tighten and was ok. Then try to spray again and the airbrush spray with pauses/spaces and I couldn’t spray fine line. When I pull the trigger much more for bigger line about half inch the airbrush sprays well ….. again close the trigger for fine line spaces for one more time. The fine tip/regulator/needle set is new never used. Any ideas or anyone with the same problem?? Thanks Jim
