  1. Put me down for this one, I'll probably do an Airfix 1/48 RN S.2
  2. It takes me about 6 months to build a simple kit
  3. Another limited edition release, the Sea Vixen isn't out yet is it?
  4. 30 minute video about Tornado deployment to Afghanistan. I think it's only available to UK users though. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00plwdk
  5. That's a lovely Jag. I do like the yellow and blue of 54 squadron.
  6. I love that scheme. It might convince me to build my first F-16
  7. Maybe it's less popular so they have cut the price to try and shift them?
  8. #1642 also comes with that little drone thing.
  9. Does anyone know what the colours are for the intakes? On the F3 it looks to me like Black, then white (at the top) barley grey everywhere else, and then white again. Is that right?
  10. The rivets or fasteners should be flush though, not giant craters like someone has attacked it with a hammer.
  11. The nose does look a little upturned in that build up. I don't know if it because of the angle or the light reflecting off the top. The pics of the model on the Revell website have a normal shaped nose.
  12. Tornado ECR is up too. http://www.hobbyboss.com/80354.htm
  13. I just noticed the thrust reverser thing by looking through the instructions online, you could easily solve it by using some wire or something similar to replicate the actuators. But still, for near enough £40 . . .
  14. Has anyone got hold of one yet? Apart from the tailplanes, it seems you can't actually have the thrust reverse buckets fully closed, only half closed (which would make them pointless).
  15. That makes it a bit easier then! Should these be ok http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/?FULL=FD4001 They says they are the pale blue and pink roundels, but they look like the older blue and red to me.
  16. Ok, thanks for your help guys. Did they not have the squadron insignia on the tails either? It's hard to tell from the black and white photos.
  17. Hi, does anyone out there produce 1/144 scale decals for FAA jets, I was hoping to do some Falklands Harriers in 1/144. I know Minicraft do a FRS1 kit but the decals are nothing special (and not Falklands specific). Thanks.
  18. Pics of a built up one: http://www.ipmsdeutschland.de/Flugzeuge/Wi...Typhoon_32.html Doesn't look too bad to me! Obviously can't see down the intakes in any of these pics but I'll be getting one (eventually )
  19. Is this another test shot, or is it a production kit someone bought from a shop?
  20. Looks good to me going by this pic: http://www.airliners.net/photo/USA---Air/L...ules/1470867/L/ How many tins of paint are you going to get through?!
  21. Just a quick update, I've been working on small fiddly bits, so not a huge amount of progress to show, but I am slowly getting there! This is how the thrust reversing mechanism of the F3 is looking so far, it's a mix of Eduard and Paragon and bits I found lying around! The fin isn't glued, so don't worry if it looks wonky
  22. I think you need some more horsepower, it barely moved! Tamiya tape should be fine with Future, I've never had any problems.
  23. Hi guys, I found this photo on Airliners.net: http://www.airliners.net/photo/UK---Air/Pa...o-F3/0542053/L/ Are the two antenna on either side of the cockpit staggered (one slightly farther forward then the other) or is it just a trick because the picture is taken at a slight angle? Thanks!
  24. I have managed to get a little bit more done to both kits. For the F3 I have added some detail to the inside of the airbrakes bay, the Eduard part didn't fit brilliantly but I think I just about got away with it I also had to lop a chunk out of the wings so that they would fit properly with the intake trunking I had added to the kit, and I've tried to rescribe the lower fuselage too. Here are the two halves together dry fitted - just look at that bend, I think the top half is slightly banana shaped! And here they are with a little glue and a lot of rubber bands to try and straighten it out. Hopefully it will stay like that when I remove them! There are a few gaps that will need filling, but hopefully it won't be a total nightmare. Here it is with the rear fuselage from the Hase F-14, it went together nicely, will only need a few touches of filler to remove the seam. Though putting the main u/c bays together was interesting, I don't know why they thought that was a good way to do things, but I just about managed it! Next up are the intakes I think!
