  1. It took me 48hrs to coax the vintage tamiya ones off the sheet on my renault 5 build...
  2. Nice one, Revell's DTM Trio of kits are one of their best.
  3. Thanks, Incredibly odd choice for me too, In fact I think the interior does not match the rest of the car at all. lol. Thanks, I used Tamiya lacquerLP38 flat aluminium with a bit of gaia starbright silver. Then washed with Tamiya enamel semi gloss black.
  4. Latest update the wheels and interior is done. car underside 20240311_184113 by df0084, on Flickr Wheels. I love how they turned out. 20240313_100004 by df0084, on Flickr Dashboard's done 20240312_213333 by df0084, on Flickr 20240312_213540 by df0084, on Flickr Testing how it all looks with body attached. Looks good but its far from done.
  5. Lol they seem to be a bit ashamed to be advertising that. On a more sombre note, The great Akira Toriyama , the creator of Dragonball and Dr Slump has passed away. He was a real model fan and that passion could be seen in his works where he would pepper his art with drawings of Tamiya kits of the day. The Renault 5 Turbo seemed to be a favourite of his, so with new drive I will be completing this kit in his dedication. R,I,P Akira Toriyama.
  6. Man that vantage boxart is lovely, they don't do them like they used to back then, love vintage kit builds like these, will be watching with interest!
  7. Looking great! Nice tip on the paper for seatbelts. I must try that someday.
  8. Lol I'm a big sucker with card with big stickers that extol their virtues like Turbo, Dohc, sohc, etc lol they seemed to have been in vogue in the 80's but not anymore
  9. Update: Finally got the paint and the decals on with the clear coat. Now it's a 2week wait for the clear to dry. Dealing with the vintage decals was an absolute pain and an eye opener. the replacements were totally not in scale and a waste of money. I was lucky the turbo side decals went on fine but the Renault hood logo was screwed and I replaced it with a spare. 430803419_10161079406832192_876437364593860440_n by df0084, on Flickr 430751508_10161079406937192_6108499810130571276_n by df0084, on Flickr 430775423_10161079407127192_8370253363230963678_n by df0084, on Flickr The spare logo. the old one totally disintegrated upon application.
  10. An excellent build in silver. Makes for a nice souvenir for your trip, and I'm sure the original builder would be chuffed to see what you've done with his kit!
  11. A very nice orthodox R34 build. Love the comparis with both R32 and R34!
