My PPs are waiting for my return. I'm planning to start first build on Monday. I also hope to have two overtrees at the end of next week.
Giorgio I'm gonna follow your WIP and look at your comments carefully. BTW, can you show some photos or pictures of a plane you are building. TIA
-
I'm happy to have two PPs at home and two OTs waiting for shipping till I'm home. After the first glance I must say that there are only few things I don't like: Engine cowling divided into two parts, these strange places on the wings which are supposed to imitate patches covering guns...I hope to start building one next week so will be able to say sth more.

@Phantom
Not only WE is going to be released next year. More interesting is the lack of Mk.VIII ProfiPack. But yes, next few years are going to be very costly for my wallet. This year to limiteds - RC and Mk.XVI.
@Wooksta
As far as I remember FW 190 has the same problem with the cockpit. I'll check it today...mine are going to come in a few hours.

That's terrible, it's quite obviously fatally flawed!
I'll take them off your hands for a fiver each

No way....not gonna give it away....even for fivehundreder

I've checked other Czech forums and what I've noticed is that there's some kind of "Czech kit producers' Civil War"...if I understand Czech good enough (well I should, I live 30 km from Czech border lol). I hope to put my hand on my models before the end of the month...and then I'll start my workshop...if I only have enough time.
-
My Czech is very poor but at the Modelarovo.cz website there is a review of a new Spitfire and according to a person who wrote it new Spitfire has too big span (sth ca. 1/70.8 scale). I hope this is not the case as I have already ordered 4.
-
Me ordered two overtrees. And some time ago I ordered PP edition too...two boxes. Gonna start as soon as I get them...The problem is when I finish though. Would like to build one for model show in September. But usually my modeling plans doesn't work

Well will see.

After analyzing the photos and instruction on the Nymburk's forum I must admit that we have the best Spitfire Mk.IX in 72nd to date...until Tamiya release theirs one day.LOL

I can see one or two things I don't like but nothing serious. I've already ordered two and if everything's ok I should have them before the end of the month. Then I'll be able to say more.
So now Eduard should start designing early Spits.

I've noticed the control surfaces but, if my memory works ok, same was with 48th. But when it hit the shelves it turned out that they were ok. Methinks it'll be fine. And this photos magnify the details. I believe I'll get several of them.

Looks very nice indeed, although I don't think rivetting being necessary. But Czechs are rivet-crazy guys so what can we do?

Kłócić się chcesz

Coffman starter cover should be closer to propeller. The oil cooler should be smaller as per Spitfire Mk.I. I'll check my sources and update my post later.
BUT, as I said before, beautiful work. Big thumbs up. Podoba się.

Superb job but...it's Mk.Vb not Mk.IIb. Nevertheless, I'm really impressed.
-
At the beginning of this topic there was information about forthcoming P-36/H-75 and still nothing. It's a pity as it's one of most forgotten planes. There are only some old short runs or Monogram kits. Since the info AZ/Admiral/KP have managed to design and release several other planes. I don't know what others think but I'd really like to have new model.

Probably next year. But it's just a guess basing on releasing schedule of 1/48. Now we have Late Mk.IXc, after the summer we'll probably have Early, then Mk.IXe...then Mk.XVI and VIII. We'll see.
-
Mike
It'll have the same markings as older and bigger sis in 1/48. But I really want to build only two of them - no 302 Polish squadron ('cos it's Polish) and no 601('cos it's from the MTO).
-
Just saw the price in my country and it's high. As high as Tamiya's models (I mean A6M or Mosquito) I don't think my wallet will survive this year.
-
Meatbox there wasn't Spitfire Mk.IX with "b" wing.
Spitfires XIV is good news indeed but the price will be too high. But I'll probably take one or two to try them.
-
Yes for P-40. No for Yaks...But I'd like to see new Spitfire Vc, new Tempest, new Fairey Firefly (FAA figter) or new D.520 (but this one is not mainstream). Oh maybe new metal wing Hurricanes. We haven't mentioned this type.
-
As far as I know it's gonna be in one and only true scale - the Royal 1/72.

In the neighboring topic people are discussing forthcoming post-war multiemgine aircraft. In this I'd like to concentrate on the second SH's project.
Below available information:
- a fighter
- mainstream type
- one engine
- fully from metal forms.
That's all for now. No country of origin, no type of engine (in-line or radial).
-
I just wonder whether this model of a fighter from WW2 will be a short run (as Barracuda) of from metal forms designed in modern cad/cam tech.
-
Interesting. All kits from metal moulds are post war jets, all II WW are short runs...really interesting.
-
Thanks for clearing the view. Now I know everything. Again, thank you very much😊
-
I don't know much about jets but from articles and books I've read I must say that British aviation companies weren't able to build up to date jet planes. When USSR and the USA used MiG-15 and Sabres RAF used Vapires, Meteors. When before mentioned states used faster than sound fighters RAF had Hunters (very nice plane). Then Lightning appeared. It's a pity as there were a lot of interesting projects.
Can anyone from the UK tell me why British aviation industry build planes which were no challenge for Soviets or Americans. Even French avind created planes that could keep the field.
On the other hand British government gave Soviets lots of technology which pushed Soviet military industry forward. For example most of Soviet jet engines of the first post war generation, used on MiG fighters, were copies of British jet engines.
I think that this is the reason why British jets haven't scored any kills before Falklands.

Giorgio now I know what are you going to build. Have this book but don't have decals. Anyone has done them 'cos I want to build Spitfire IXs used in the MTO.
