Terry Thaks for info about the spinner. Where can I find pics of your kit?

I almost finish Mackie's Tempest and during Christmas started building Kittyhawk Mk.III LD-: (FR813)of no. 250 Squadron. Unfortunately only reference I have are 2 colour profiles (one of Tally Ho!'s and one in P-40's monography by Polish publishing house Militaria). Can anyone help me with the photos of this aircraft? Thanks in advance Dom

E.D.Mackie's Tempest SN228 (EDM) - wing roundels
DominikS replied to DominikS's topic in Aircraft WWII
So, I'll put roundels with yellow outer rings. Yet, what was the size? The same as on fuselage or bigger? -
Hi Everyone! I'm currently building Mackie's Tempest V and I have a problem. I wanna use Xtradecal set but I'm not sure about wings upper surface roundels. According to Xtradecal they are without yellow edge. But there's a but...According to only photo of this plane I have (Osprey's AotA) they should have it. Is there a possibility that at the beginning these roundels didn't have the yellow edge? Maybe someone has more photos of Mackie's Tempest SN228. I'd be very grateful for some. Cheers Dom

Brian Lane's Spitfire - Tamiya 1/72
DominikS replied to DominikS's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Unfortunately Tally Ho! decals are out of stock (although I bought one set but Polish post office lost the letter with decals), as the company doesn't exist anymore. The only serial numbers and letters by Xtradecal I've found are post war. Would it be good enough for 1940 Spitfires? Timbo33 cutting letters is possible, even in 72nd scale. The quality only depends on the quality of plotter. -
Brian Lane's Spitfire - Tamiya 1/72
DominikS replied to DominikS's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
@Miggers I wish I could do Wright's Spit but I don't have decals...The biggets problem are the serial numbers and letters, although I could prepare masks. The problem is that I don't know which font I should use. -
Hi folks! Finally I've finished something. I started building this little kit in August. It's taken me almost two months to finish it. Typical for Tamiya's kits the building was pure pleasure. I used Gunze C colours and Xtradecal set, did some washing and used dry pigments. Oh yes, this is my second little kit in 72nd scale after I decided to stop working with 48th - lack of space in my flat. Cheers.

Hope to see them in 72nd scale...I'm afraid that it's only wishful thinking, though. So there's only Awful Zee kits left. Daro.

@Chuck1945. I've never mensioned the colour of the port wing. It's clearly Sky. But look at the spoke part not in the shade. It's definitely not Sky nor Aluminium...unless very dirty Alu. I'm looking at the photo in the Price's "Spitfire in Combat" which is bigger and clearer and posr wheel spoke lokks black or night.
-
Is it a new Hurri or new boxing of the old one? Irish marking very interesting indeed.
-
Chuck just look at the rim (???). Part of it isn't in the shade and it's very dark (as dark as tyre) so methinks its either weathered black or night.

Hi Simon That's the photo. But I made a mistake, I meant the port undercarriage leg, not starboard. Most models I've seen so far have both undergarriage legs aluminium and so the inner parts of undercarriage doors.
-
I've recently started building Brian Lane's Spitfire QV-K. And the problem occured. Studying the famous photo of Lane's plane (with erks on the wing) I've noticed that the right undercarriage leg is painted black not aluminium/silver or Sky. Does it mean that left leg was white? Does anyone have other photos of Lane's Spit that can be helpful? Regards

Hi folks. I'd like to present my recently bulit model - Academy's Spitfire FR 14. I used Quickboost propeller and guns. Cheers

Dewoitine D.520, Hasegawa 1/72
DominikS replied to DominikS's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Promised new photos. Camouflage corrected and I used more eye-friendly background. Cheers! -
Hi all Has anyone heard anything new about new Spitfire Mk.I from Airfix. They've presented suchj a nice animation a nothing else. And there isn't much time left to the BoB Day. And what about Cyber Hobby's announcement about Spitfire Mk.I and Hurricane Mk.I. Anything new?

Hi folks Long time since my last post here. But I finally finished this kit. The work was started two years ago. Later I started doing 48th scale models and this one landed in the box on the wordrobe. Now I'm going back to build kits in this 'Tough Guys' Scale' so decided to finish it, finally. It was repained. I used Gunze H and C and Lifecolors (in this case both bluegreys). Unfortunately, Blue Tack rollers left some tarcks on the Lifecolors. What's the most interesting there weren't any tracks lest on the Gunze colours. I used some wash and dry pigments to make it a bit dirty. OK, here are the pictures - although I have to work on them a bit. Ah, I almost forgot. I'll put better pics when I correct painting - you'll see the problem on one of the pictures. Now it's time for holidays. Next model is to be shown at the end of the mont...SEAC lovers prepare.

I only hope that Tamiya is going to release Nines and Eights in 72nd scale (although I'd buy one or two in 48th if they'd release them).
-
And what about Quickboost's Rotols for Hurricanes. AFAIK there are two types of "early" Hurri Rotols Which of them looks like a Spitty Rotol? PS. Both pics taken from manufacturer's website.

I don't want to open new topic and make mess here, so decided to continue in this topic. I need as many photos of No92 Squadron as possible. Can anyone advice to me books or websites where I can find them. And is there any book avialable about this squadron's history?

Today a postaman brought me two Whirlwinds - "Cannon Fighter" and "Fighter-Bomber". Both look very nice in the boxes with some resin and PE parts. Considering camo schemes I like the one with black underwing surface (J-HE). Now I'm waiting for Seafire Mk.II by Special Hobby - http://www.cmkkits.com/en/aircraft/superma...p;imageID=45048 The cover graphics is ready. Now we have to wait. I'm sure I'll order two, at least.

Hi All! I know that next No.92 Squadron's Spitfire will be Mk.VIII JF502. I've recently bought Eagle Strike British Thoroughbreds Decal Set with the markings of this plane. The biggest problem now is to find photos. Can anyone help me and send me some photos of this aircraft. Thx in advance Dominik

Oh, I completely forgot. It's Eduard's Weekend Edition Yak-3, 48th scale. I don't like the "fives" but wasn't able to cut better ones. I looked for decals, but couldn't find. The upper surface colour is completely speculative. Frankly speaking I didn't find any photos of this aircraft, only one colour profile.

Hi Folks! I'd like to present the kit I did at the end of August, a few weeks before my wedding. It was quite nice build. I used the mixture of Gunze and Pactra colours to paint it. I also used Techmod decals - the Polish insignia. So here it is - Polish Yak-3 used by PAF after the WWII. All the best in New Year!!!! Cheers

Aut Pugna Aut Morere - No.92 Squadron Spitfires Mk.Ia
DominikS replied to DominikS's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Thanks for a hint, but I only need Duke's markings. And, frankly speaking, I don't need so many markings. I will built a few kits in 48th scale and go back to 72nd scale - lack of space in my flat.
