  1. Maybe not widely used in the BoB but don't forget about Spitfires Mk.II. Jon I've sent you PM.
  2. Jon, great idea. When I'm home I'll look in my photo archive and send something. Cheers!
  3. What's interesting there aren't any drawings yet at Spitfire set. So maybe they're preparing correct set. However, I'm afraid that it will have some issues.
  4. I've just learnt that Xtradecal is going to release new decal sheets covering the Battle of Britain. One will cover Spitfires (yes, yes, yes) the other Hurricanes (ok). But the Spitfire one does include Spitfires from May and June too. I only hope that 92 Squadron's GR-U will have correct shape of squadron's code G. So far I have seen twice this scheme (one released by Model Alliance the other by Xtradecal) and both have this error. The same error has Victory Productions' "Aces of the Empire" sheet with Robert Tuck's GR-P. The only correct letter shape can be found in DP Casper set "Dunkirk 1940" where there is GR-G plane. Nevertheless I'm looking forward to those sets...and a new, ultimate kits of Spitfire Mk.I and Hurricane Mk.I w/metal wing. BTW. I've already pointed this issue to the producer when Xtradecals released 1/32 Mk.I/Mk.II set. I wonder if they corrected it. Cheers Dominik, impatiently waiting for new Eduard's Spitfires
  5. Petr Can you think about new Spitfires Mk.I-V. Especially Mark V is needed. I understand that it won't happen very soon as designing and preparing moulds takes a lot of Time. Of other types it will be great to see Fairey Firefly and Fulmar and the Seafire family. And please give us P-36/H-75 as soon as possible.
  6. Hi Everybody As I promised, I post new, better photos. Cheers!
  7. There are new Polish paints sold in sets. The name of company is Hataka. There's a set dedicated to RAF during the Second World War.
  8. Hi All Thank you for all Information about the plate. Coincidentally I learnt something new about the shape and other things. Edgar, you should definitely write a book about the Spitfire. It would sell in thousands, methinks.
  9. With GSI paints (both H and C) I only use "yellow" Levelling Thinner. I have been painting with them since I started using airbrush ca. 8 years ago. I always make a mixture (paint - thinner) 1:1 or 1:2. And the pressure I use is around 1.5 Bar. I think the pressure you use is too high.
  10. So maybe in future we'll see 1/72 Tempest...I hope.
  11. Unfortunately they didn't want to do the same with Spitfire Mk.I in 1/72 scale. And we really need a new Mk.I in smaller scale...as well as Mark Five.
  12. Doug, thanks for the photo. I know the shape. Now dimensions to scale down to 72nd.
  13. I want to build some Spitfires from the Battle of Britain. At that time, AFAIK, all Spitfires had armour protection.
  14. Hi Fellow Modellers and Spitfire Experts I have a very unusual question. I need information about the shape and dimensions of armour plates behind pilot seat. Neither Tamiya's nor Airfix's Spitfires Mk.I in 1/72 scale don't have those parts and I want to make them from the scratch. I'll be grateful for any kind of help. Cheers Dominik
  15. Thanks for your posts. I'm gonna build the one from No 19 Sqn, although the one from No 41 Sqn is also interesting. While looking for photos I've found a short film on YouTube with a Spitfire from No 266 Sqn landing. It's the one I've found in A.Price's books. Unfortunately I can't catch the serial number. Next time I'll post the link to that film and maybe someone will be able to help me with this issue.
  16. Hi Everyboby So far I have been gathering info about Spitfires Mk.I in the BoB. But AFAIK there were also Spitfires Mk.II. So far, again, I have found only two photos of that Mark but both are unclear - one is EB-J (the serial number unclear) of No 41 Sqn and the second is UO without aircraft indyvidual letter of 266 Sqn (found in two A. Price's books). I was wondering if you could help and share other photos of the BoB Spitfires Mk.II. I will be very grateful for them as I want to build some Spitfires Mk.II from the Battle of Britain. Cheers Dominik....waiting impatiently for the new Eduard's Spitfire
  17. I only hope that it's not gonna be very limited edition as the 48th scale edition. The original idea was completely without sense as the shipping cost is horrible. I wish Eduard released it normally, to the shops. I think Royal Class would be better for the beginning. But now only we can do is to wait and see. Dominik....waiting impatiently for new Eduard's Spitfires.
  18. Thanks Guys for kind words. As soon as I take better photos I'll post 'em here. Unfortunately the weather doesn't want to co-operate.
  19. Saving money for Spitfires has started. But as I haven't any radial engine Focke Wulf I think I'll buy some. Unfortunately no Hurri Mk.I with metal wings in 72nd
  20. Hi All I've finally finished my second Reisen. The whole work took almost 1.5 year. Unfortunately I don't have much time for hobbies. As I mentioned in WIP topic I had had an accident with tail decals and the kit had to wait until last Tuesday to be finished. Fortunately two fellow modellers from Polish forum helped me with decals. The other thing was a short holiday and my son in kindergarten. Enough talking. Kit painted with Gunze C, H and Tamiya paints. I'm not a good photographer so please forgive me the quality of photos. And two pics in artificial light Now I'm going to finish Spitfire Mk.I and then...either Bf 109E-4 or Hellcat Mk.I. Cheers!
  21. What we really need is the whole high back Mustang family in 72nd scale not for "blind men" . Cheers Dominik...waiting impatiently for Eduard's Spitfires.
  22. Tony, don't touch it. These are old models dated back to 80s and even 70s. I once bought a Spitfire Mk.VIII which was old KP model. Only box arts are decent.
  23. Andy, it's a great help. Do you happen to have a photo of engine cowling part? I want to be sure about a demarcation line between lower surface colour and a camouflage. Nevertheless, now I know that I have to use different type of aerial mast that I thought. Once again, great thank you.
  24. Thank you Graham for a hint. Photos found and archived - will be used during Group Build. And what about LO-Q? Are there aby photos? I've only found colour profiles.
