  1. @Troy Smith Thank you for your help. Today I'll repaint some parts in the cockpit. Fortunately, I haven't painted the bays yet.... BTW, those paintings look really nice. Have a nice Easter. Dominik
  2. Hi I have a question about Hurricane Mk,II wheel bays colour/s. I've already tried to find the answer on this forum through a search engine but I haven't found all I wanted to know. In one of the other topics Troy mentioned that Hurricanes from the Eighth Batch had wheel bays painted the same colour as the undersides. Were all Hurricanes from the Eighth and further batches painted the same way? There is one more thing, but from a few posts I've already read, I assume that cockpits on late production Mk.IIs were Interior Grey Green painted cockpit walls, pilot seat and the wall behind the pilot seat. Dominik
  3. Geez...Not again. I thought that moaning about the scale has finished.
  4. Just to make clear - these holes are not rivets. These are holes made after removing rivets. So I think they should be "rivets" not rivets. And actually sometimes these "rivets" can be pain... I personally don't like these holes but if they are there it's fine. I'll live with it. But if the technology is so advanced, as Mikołaj said, why don't they do rivets as they should look like? With modern IT designing tech it shouldn't be so hard. And yes, I know that the term rivets is just an agreement. So, summing up. Some of us like "rivets", some don't. Let's leave all the fuss about it aside and have fun from modelling.
  5. Hi! I have already asked the Uncle G. search engine for this and found some answers but they are not clear enough for me. So, what I know is that the voltage regulator was not installed on the back of the frame where it can be found on Mk. IX or V, for example but was moved to the portside. But where exacly? I found a drawing which shows it installed above (?) air bottles. On the other hand Eduard made Mk.VIII brassin cockpit and gave the vr below the "door". Which is correct? And the other thing is the shape. Was it tha same as in Spitfire Mk.IX but relocated or was it a box similar to the one used on early Mk.Is? Thank you for any help. Dominik
  6. Unfortunately, the Great War airwar isn't as popular as WWII. Myself, I only have two kits in he stash (Arma Hobby Fokker and Eduard Fokker VII Weekend). But I really like watching well built WWI kits at the competitions.
  7. I was checking something else in 92 squadron ORB and this plane was frequently flown by James Rankin.
  8. And that's what I'm talking about. In this box Eduard gives the b wing with blisters the same as in Mk.Ib and early Vb made from Mk. I bs (famous photo of QJ-S is the one). In my opinion the one discussed above should have blisters known from Mk.Vb (kidney-like shape)
  9. Nice photo of that kite. However, I'm not sure about suggested wings for the kit. I think the Wxxxx series had later underwing cannon blisters, not the one given by Eduard in the box.
  10. Actually they retooled Spitfire Mk.I in 1/48 so I don't see any reason for not retooling the one in 1/72. In my previous post I forgot to mention the scale. And I think you are right about young Mr. T attitude to 1/72.
  11. I'm not expecting anything interesting for me from Tamiya. I really don't understand why they don't want to make 1/72 P-38 Lightning and new tool Spitfire Mk.I...The Lightning would definitely be a winner.
  12. Bought this book in October as I found it really interesting. Fortunately, language is not a big problem for me because it's similar to my mother tongue and I live ca. 25 km from Czechia. And I was lucky to have it signed by Jiři Šebek (one of the authors) and František Kubíček (author of profiles). Looking forward to part 2.
  13. And there's Ju 87... I wonder if they plan to release something completely new in 1/72...V.Š. was supposed to tell about it during E-Day but decided not to. We'll see in January, although I don't have any expectations about it.
  14. Nope. It says that on 16th they'll announce a Jubilee offer for 1/72 modellers.
  15. People have always liked guessing. It's human nature. There's nothing wrong about it. Now we can open another thread, speculating what next IBG aircraft model will be. And yes, V.Šulc's behaviour was a bit awkward. First he had been announcing that the new 1/72 kit would be unveiled during the E-Day, and then he said nothing. Well...
  16. Actually, there is a need for single-stage Merlin Spitfires. We don't have any decent kits (nope, Airfix Mk.I and Mk.Vc are not very "attractive". Neither ar those of KPs) A6M - we have incredible Tamiya kits. However, they didn't make all the line. With Tamiya's A6M2, there's no need to spend money on an Airfix kit. However, Eduard would make the whole line. So in some distant future, we'll see it. New P-51D will be welcome - I think that there is a chance to have new kits from two manufacturers next year. P-39 is made by Arma Hobby, not IBG. I would gladly see the early FW 190s in 1/72.
  17. First, the main topic. I don't really think Tamiya would release anything new in 1/32 because of the cost of making forms (the most expensive part of designing process, if I remember correctly) and the income gained from such a model. For them making smaller kits (1/48 or 1/72).is more profitable methinks. Now to the second part of discussion. Guys, talking that this scale is better and that scale is sucks is a BS. Every scale is ok. However, circumstances alter cases. Myself, I mostly build in 1/72 but sometimes in 1/48. There was a time I used to build only in 1/48 but after a few years returned to 1/72. Am I a die-hard seventy-seconder? Nope. And talking about age or eyesight is just an excuse. I knew a very nice man, 90+ of age, who until his death had built only in 1/72. The same is with eyesight - I have and build in 72nd, my friend have and they build too. IMHO, everyone chooses the scale he/she likes the most. Piotr mentioned that "wrong scale" problem of some 1/48 and 1/32 modellers (and probably there are some 1/72 modellers who have the same issue, but definitely they are less in numbers). From my point of view that's a very serious problem that might be only solved nat by the workshop desk but somewhere else. For me, I don't give a damn who build what and what scale. For me modelling is having a good fun and meeting lads and lassies with the same "crazyness". So let's stop talking about one scale being better than the other. Let's focus on fun.
  18. I actually bought Wunderschone Neuen Machinen Teil 1 but I must agree that in the past buying Limited Edition was profitable with some extra goodies (resin parts, sometimes books). Same was with Royal Class (resin, books, cool glasses). Now this Limited Edition is limited only by name and number of boxes. In the past it would just be called Dual Combo. And the decals were better (Cartograf). I would really like to see real Limited Edition with some cool goodies, even if there were one kit only. BTW, just bought ProfibPack Friedrich Vier but it doesn't include early pilot seat. It's strange because, as far as I know, some F-4s did have them installed.
  19. Unfortunately this (Finnish) is not a mainstream topic, although it's quite interesting. But similar situation is with other, not German, users - in my opinion Italian painting were also interesting (from my point of view), Hungarian, Romanian or others. For me, more interesting topic is Africa and the MTO. Unfortunately, in recent F-4 box there's only one - Marseille's. Most are from the Eastern front, few from the West.
  20. No Wunderschone Neuen Machinen Teil 2 though. It was supposed to be released in September originally. Now I can't see it for October. Will it be in November?
  21. It'll probably be P-51 - flown with roundels of Commonwealth and French air forces, stars of the USA and commie China, Swiss crosses. The Czechoslovak Air Force wasn't able to obtain them, probably because just after the war it had enough Spitfires and Lavochkins to fulfill its needs. And then the commies overtook the power.
  22. Hi Fellow Forumites Got a question to those of You who are in knowledge of Mustangs. So far I've learnt that there were two types of Schick Johnson seats used on Mustangs - the plywood and metal. I've also learnt that the plywood was used on, ca., 800 Bs and some Cs before switching to Warren McArthur seats. But did NA ever implement metal Schick Johnson seats on "razorback" Mustangs? I've been looking for such an information in different books and on the net but found nothing. Thank you for every information. Cheers Dominik
  23. A6M5 is not a secret - when they started releasing Zeros it was mentioned that they would make the whole family. Mezek - also already mentioned. P-51B/C - ditto Only L-39 and Su-25 might be called "a surprise", although they are reboxes. However, V.Šulc mentioned on Modelforum that they are working on a new 1/72 project which they are planning to release in the middle of next year. But I remember him saying that they have something secret on the drawing board though. But we'll have to wait till E-Day to see if they mention something about it.
  24. I'm refreshing old meat, but have a question. Was metal Schick Johnson seat ever used on Mustang Bs/Cs?
  25. But P-40 family was mentioned some time ago. So it's not a secret. However, the second part of the Wunderschone Neuen Machinen was supposed to be released in September, if I remember correctly, but it won't. I wonder if the delay has been caused by releasing Bf 109K and FM-2?
