  1. Fingers, toes and everything else crossed that they eventually produce 1/72nd versions of these!
  2. Thanks to all of you who responded to my question. My initial concern over the KP X/XI kits arose from my KP IX, which somehow no longer looked ‘right’ once the Eduard VIII and IX came to be sat beside it. Your feedback suggests the newer X and XI are an advance on previous late-Merlin Spitfires from KP, and given the outlined challenges of cross kitting, I think I’ve been persuaded to give these kits a go; certainly the examples you’ve shared look pretty good to me! Particular thanks to @Giorgio N for your detailed comparison 🙏🏻
  3. Many would agree I think that the best 1/72 two-stage Merlin spitfires currently in the market are the fantastic Eduard kits. However, I am looking to add marks X and XI to my collection so I’m looking for opinions on the new(ish) KP kits. I appreciate the fit/assembly will be probably be no match for the Eduard kits, but what about the overall shape, dimensions and accuracy? If one of these kits stood next to an Eduard Spitfire, would it look out of place? Or would I be better off taking parts from the KP kit (wings/deep cowl etc) and cross kitting with the Eduard kit to get the best example? Thanks
  4. Hi everyone, my names Matt from Bicester in Oxfordshire. Like most of us I started modelling as a kid many years ago, then as I got older other hobbies and interests took over. I never completely stopped however, the odd model here or there, but now in my 30’s I took up the hobby seriously again during the lockdown of 2020 and haven’t looked back since! I’m a history graduate with a particular interest in WW2, so most of what I build is from that era, all in 1/72nd scale. In the last few years, I’ve been an outsider looking in, and have picked up so many useful tips, techniques and bits of information from the forums on this site that have made a huge improvement to my models. And then I thought, why not join? So here I am! Thanks to all of you who have already unwittingly helped my modelling; I very much enjoy perusing the ‘ready for inspection’ forums as they are a great source of inspiration. Some of the work there is truly amazing! Anyway thanks for having me. I look forward to being part of the britmodeller community!
