  1. Just Eduard boxing. I can’t link as it’s a buying group on Facebook. Lots have reported the defect back
  2. There seems that there is a defect on the cockpit canopy in these kits. Not got mine yet but lots of kits affected. Cheers. DSJ
  3. It’s PVA that causes a corrosion issue and the lead expands. I kit build brass locos the same as Heather. CA and Epoxy don’t have the same effect. When your talking of damaging a brass loco kit that costs you about £1k. You need to get it right first time. Cheers. DSJ
  4. North wales fighters and trainers based at Penrhos and Llandwrog. Ansons, hurricanes, Whitleys, Harvards, Wellingtons and Lysanders. All used for defence, gunnery training and pilot training. Cheers. DSJ ps: does anyone know of any decal sheets that do cover these items?
  5. It just means it’s discontinued by the manufacturer. If it’s not selling in numbers to make a ROI in materials, it’s better to put money into new products that will sell. Cheers. DSJ.
  6. I use magnets to hold super structures down to the deck on some of my scale RC warships. Might be worth experimenting with neodymium magnets to hold the wings down. Just don’t leave paper clips about........🤔
  7. A critical area to protect is the contact area between point blades and stock rails. Most layouts use these areas to conduct power. Drop lengths of pipe cleaners in between to protect them before painting 😉
  8. I would like to see a sheet for Lakenheath eagles (E and C) in 1/48 and some of the recent ‘special commemorative tail’ Hercules operated by the RAF in 1/72. Cheers DSJ
  9. I was there on Saturday. The airport is excellent. Rugs pushing aircraft out, start up routine, taxi and take off. Just amazing and should be at a cost of £3 million euros! Cheers Darren
  10. Pan cameras. The ex TL class 387's also have them. Mandatory fitment on most or if not all 25kv fleets. Mainly used for incidents involving wire down scenarios where it can be proved if it was an OHL issue or a fleet fault that caused an incident. Normally it would take months of evidence gathering that usually meant delay minutes running into millions of pounds are disputed between the TOC and NWR. Cheers DSJ ( ex Thameslink fleet performance engineer)
  11. Another reason to get that great paint finishing set from True Earth.
  12. I'm still looking for 1/48 Brimstones ☹
  13. Happy fifth birthday. Loving your books and the detail you cover. Not going to Telford but if your ever passing Caldwell depot behind the hospital in Bedford nip in for a cuppa!
  14. Had four Israeli F15E's over the villa in Cyprus this morning doing a joint exercise with the Cypriot airforce. Regards DSJ
  15. Will try for pictures but only iPhone with me. Not seen it since I mentioned it but it is weekend 😉
  16. Funnily enough I am on Cyprus at the moment and one of the Hinds flies over regularly to the Akamas peninsular. In recent years it's been a dark green colour with fluro orange panels. The one today was in a rough painted white with no markings. Looked like it was painted with a yard brush! Cheers DSJ
  17. Great stuff. Will order soon. Got a HPH Sea Hornet that will benefit from this book. Darren (other side of bedford)
  18. Senna's Mclaren in 1/12 from Tamiya. ..just purchased from Hiroboy. Cheers Dsj
