  1. I'm glad I started this thread it is very interesting. Many thanks for that link Dave it seems pretty comprehensive.
  2. Update - the parts I needed arrived today direct from Revell Germany. Excellent service overall, a little patience is helpful. Cheers
  3. I'm not really concerned with mis-described kits as the photos generally show the actual scale. I'm more interested because I want to concentrate on 1/72 and would much prefer not to mix my collection with 1/76. Maybe a bit of a 'perfectionist' point of view but why not aim for accuracy as much as possible - especially as I will be displaying them side by side. Thanks everyone for the further info.
  4. Thanks that is useful info. I just had a look at the Airfix website and there only seem to be five kits currently listed under Military Vehicles in 1/72. When I see items for sale second hand, there seem to be many military vehicles available in 1/72 from Airfix which were previously available as 1/76 such as the Matilda II and the M4 Sherman MkI. I'm just trying to fathom if these (earlier) kits were just repackaged 1/76 kits sold as 1/72.
  5. I am curious and wondered if the 1/72 range of Airfix armoured vehicles is really a different range to the 1/76 armoured model range...? I cam across a discussion somewhere that Airfix had just rebadged the 1/76 kits as 1/72 scale. Anyone have any info...?
  6. Thanks for the updates. I will update this thread when I get a reply.
  7. Thanks Colin. Just as a quick update - I'm still waiting for a response.
  8. Sorry to dig up this (very) old thread but it is titled exactly as I would have so I decided to add to it for future readers. Has anyone had any success contacting the Revell/Monogram spare parts department via the Revell.de website...? I have successfully filled in the online form and received a confirmation of my request but having looked into this a bit more, there seems to be a general feeling that nothing else will happen and Revell never seem to get back to these requests. Has anyone recently had good service from Revell with spare parts requests...? Thanks * I should also point out that I have tried Emailing the address listed earlier in this thread but it got bounced back as Not Recognised so I guess Annette has left the company.
  9. I just wanted to add that another reason a supplier will want to declare the full value correctly (apart from the legal obligations) is from an insurance point of view. If they label a package with a value of say £15 but it is really worth £100, not only are they breaking their legal obligations but if the package gets lost and a claim against insurance is needed, the supplier will lose out.
  10. Thanks to you both for the tips - it may have been a silly question in the first place! I think I'm just going to pick a red and have at it but I think a semi-matt finish seems right. Cheers
  11. Greetings. Which shade of red works best for an engine paint...? Thanks
  12. Maybe it's just me but I still can't see the pictures...
  13. Excellent results on the Jag and the clever construction video. My only slight criticism would be that the music elements are too loud over the dialogue sections of the video making it tricky to hear the words.
  14. Many thanks for that valuable info from you both - I had looked at Scalemates and couldn't see any alternative 1/24 kits for a standard De Lorean. Trawling Ebay for the resin conversion seems like the only way forward. Anyway, back to the thread and sorry for the derail.
