    Brush Forking

Hi Guys, I am constantly having issue with my brushes forking, I give them a good rinse with hot water after each use but I still have the issue. Does anyone have any advice on how to prevent this and also how to restore my current brushes. many thanks Aidan
  3. Thanks that would be great. They do provide the flat panels, however I’m building Jonny walker which has the observation blisters in the windows so want to keep it as accurate as I can.
  4. I have emailed revell, for a price I just wanted to see what other options there are out there. I actually only need the two side window pieces with the observation blister.
  5. Yes they do but like the other aftermarket options, it states it’s for the airfix kit. Do you think this would fit the revell kit?
  6. Hi all, does anyone know where I can get hold of an aftermarket canopy for a 1/72 Revell Lancaster kit. I have made a mess of the side blister windows so need a replacement. thanks Aidan
  7. Hi all, I have recently purchased a kits World Vinyl Base representing a WWII USAAF airfield in 1/48 scale. Its come on a roll and is self adhesive, what's the best material to use to mount it on? Thanks Aidan
  8. Well it’s the first time I’ve ever done this but it’s gone in the Bin, awful kit. With all the pieces which had to line up in order to get the fuselage anywhere near aligned it was impossible without windows and the bomb bay and turrets falling out. Live and learn, research what you buy off eBay 😂😂
  9. Hi All, Does anyone have any experience of building this kit. I acquired this from Ebay at a decent price so thought it was worth a go. its lacking in some interior detail which I can live with as not much is visible once the fuselage is closed up, however there are no waste guns nor radio room gun position and the radio room glass is a complete piece. It looks like I'm going to have to buy some third party 50 cal guns and make some kind of mount for the waste positions and then cut the radio room glass to create the opening for the radio room gun position. Does anyone have any advise on the best approach to take with this kind of work. Also I've dry fitted the two fuselage halves and the fit isn't great so I think its going to require a fair bit of filling and sanding.
  10. Great thanks, I’ll take a look
  11. Hi All, can anyone suggest where I can get an airfield display base with an attached background for displaying my 1/48 wwii aircraft? thanks
  12. I can recommend the Vallejo metal colour paints. They are already very thin so there is no need to thin the paint further, apply multiple thin coats with light brush strokes and they settle well.
  13. Hi All, Here is my 1/48 Tamiya P51D in the Scheme of Red Tails "Creamers Dream" assigned to Lt Charles White of the 301st FS 332nd FG. It's Brush painted using Vallejo Metal Colour and finished with a satin clear coat. I used a mixture of Silver, Aluminium, and Dark Aluminium to try and achieve different shades on different panel around the aircraft. I've tried to keep the weathering to a minimum, on the reference pics I could find of this aircraft it didn't look overly dirty. I was going to attempt an Antenna wire but I keep chickening out, maybe next time Hope you like it.
  14. So I had a little go at this last night. Here's the results, what do you think?
  15. I think you're right, he is a bit of a wizard with a brush. Hopefully he'll see the topic and reply
