  1. Hi where was near Glasgow? and if your still looking for a good airbrush and compressor kit give bartsharp a try https://www.bartsharpairbrush.co.uk/ fantastic brushes and compressors and a 2nd to none warranty system Tommy
  2. Thank you so kind, we set these challenges all the time, we even had customers suggesting ideas and we put some of these ideas to frustration. Can I add the water was coloured by house paint tester pots, that was also a suggestion from a customer. Tommy
  3. someone got to say it..."that's what she said" Tommy
  4. Thank You the beauty of this diorama is both the Schnelleboot and the Corsair are totally removable and can be displayed individually, also the plaster I used was actually dental cast plaster very very fast drying stuff and very hard so not a lot of adjustment time. We sold dental cast plaster for the model rail boys and it was far cheaper than plaster of paris Tommy
  5. Can I thank ErikT and his wonderful Diorama He reminded me about this build I did at least 10 years ago and encouraged me to post this. I had the good fortune to work in a model shop up here in the Glasgow area and I love every day I was there, up until the day we had to close, I do miss it. Anyway as part of the many things we had to do in the shop one of the tasks was to get as many people who came into the shop was to feel it was not just for the purist's and experts but for novices and dabblers. We then showed many people that not all dioramas had to have special equipment and/or special materials and by doing so we then challenged each member of staff to build something and set it to a diorama but not to use any specialised material(s) that we would normally use. My challenge was to build a diorama of a vessel in the water but not use any resin or dedicated water effects as the water but instead use plater cast for the water and paint it to make to look like or symbolise water. The vessel was chosen for me and a added aircraft was chosen for me and I was told that the torpedoes had to be scratch built and I has to make the aircraft prop look like it was moving. The roundels where old and I was not allowed to use solvents to soften them of stick them down. So the picture below was my attempt of my task...enjoy Tommy
  6. wonderful, I done something similar but with an British Fleet air arm Corsair and a Schnellboot I might post the diorama, but it's not as good as yours so I might not Tommy

  12. Hi Folks WoW what a great response from you all a big Thank You Cause of you all started the ball rolling I think I have found a kit and it's a huge Project https://fleetscale.com/store/gb/74-rn-royal-sovereign-class I'm still investigating the kit and I know it's expensive but far cheaper than Deans Marine by £300 so if it goes ahead I will post on the forum about the progress Cheers Tommy
  13. Hi Folks I'm looking for a kit of 1/350 or larger of the WW1 but mainly WW2 H.M.S. Ramillies I know there are models of other Revenge-class super-dreadnought battleships (Royal Oak and Royal Sovereign) but they are now discontinued or of smaller size (1/700) If anyone has any Revenge-class super-dreadnought battleships or know where I can obtain one please inform me so I can enquire. This is for a personal project as my grandfather served on her during WW2 and was injured on her after the midget sub attack on her after the Battle of Madagascar. He survived this and re-joined her for the D-Day landings. My mother has pictures of him in his naval uniform when he served on her but I would love to build the ship to give to her to place the photos and his medals next to the ship that protected him to come back and extend his family (that's including my mum). Thank You Tommy
