  1. Hi Paul Just got shoved to one side due to other things in life going on. The kit is fine, the fin short shot took 5 minutes to fix and no other problems were found in the build. Heller RF84F should be the next rescue if all goes well Ian
  2. I would suggest that the F35 is partially responsible for this, a very interesting NEW report on this aircraft is available on Hyperscale. Apparently it needs another few billion spending on it to make it as capable as an F16,which by the way has a very good "kill"ratio against it
  3. Lets hope the dumbed down people who run it don't last much longer
  4. Hi Folks The second rescue from the shelf of doom, somehow just lost interest in it. Painted with Xtracolor, decals from Aeromaster Ian
  5. Hi Folks At last I've decided to clear out the shelf of doom starting with this F84F. There are another dozen or so models which for some reason got flung to one side and ignored. Typical Monogram of the time, no filler required fits together very well. Supposed to have problems around the back end but it looks like an F84 and for a fiver a bit of a bargain. Painted with various silvers, decals by Aeromaster. Ian
  6. Another nicely done model Tony. Are you running out of space yet? Ian
  7. Hi Paul You certainly had your trials and tribulations with this one. It turned out rather well though, good job you are patient!!!! Ian
  8. It's probably a bit later than your time scale in 1976 I saw 2 Hunters in SR they were painted all over brown with disruptive green on top. No markings or serial number except what looked like an emblem on the tail. Interestingly 2 of the ex SRAF Pembrokes were in a hanger at Livingstone airport along with 5 Chipmunks a couple of Beavers and a Dornier28.
  9. Hi Paul You made a nice job of the Sabre,I wouldn't worry about the wing the aircraft as depicted is correct. Photo's show 23381 with the wing fences. Ian
  10. Didn't the US author Dale Brown use this concept in some of his books along with the Megafortress B52 which apparently never needed to be refuelled and had unlimited weapons which never missed.Reasonable tongue in cheek action though. Ian
  11. Very nice Andy, not content with outdoing me on F102s you have started on F86Ds. I only have one left but you keep coming up with another one. Cheers Ian
  12. The SC54 picture was taken at a Prestwick air show around 1960,cant remember the exact one. Taken by my father with a Eumig 35mm camera. Prestwick at that time had a USAF base and the 67 ARS was based there with SC54s and SA16 Albatross,if I remember correctly the SH19 Chickasaw's departed a couple of years earlier. A large number of very interesting aircraft used Prestwick, happy days Ian
  13. At least you finished it and made a good job of it. I always liked the Marine colour scheme on the Mitchell. Ian
  14. Grovel more I love it. When are you calling in again? Ian
  15. Another lovely kit Andy,I get the feeling you are trying to build more F102s than me Ian
  16. Another set of action comic hero's from the 50s-early 60s I used to quite like the US comics imported to the UK. My wife would tell me how sad I am, all join in now. Ian
  17. Hi Foks A few more for the masochists among you. Cheers Ian
  18. The Dakota is now in the Italian Air Force Museum Ian
  19. Hi Folks I've been scanning hundreds of old air show photo's and thought I would share some with you. Cheers Ian
  20. Hi Wlad The u/c legs are a bit weak,I think they have wire in the centre of the resin, they still spread a little though. When it goes to the great storage site in the loft I’ll put a rubbber band round them to keep them square. I meant to put PT26 but had a senior moment. Ian
  21. I've seen some nice models from you Tony but that is one of the best. Ian
  22. Hi Folks This is the Planet Models kit of the PT19 Cornell basic trainer used in quantity by the RAF and RCAF. This aircraft depicts one my father flew at No 3 Flying Instructors School in Canada when he did his flying instructors course after his first operational tour. The future pilot instructors were greeted by the words 'gentlemen this is where we teach you to fly in a proper manner" The kit is very nice to build, finished with Xtracolor Trainer Yellow and uses the kit decals. Cheers Ian
  23. My Favourite Sabre beautifully built and finished, one of the best fitting kits ever made IMHO. I hope Revell get over their problems and reissue this kit as I am down to my last one. Ian
  24. Very nice Sabre,i bought two of these thing they would be good kits?Built one and had exactly the problems you described, sold the second one on. Placed against the Revell F86D it is quite apparent that it is not 1/48th scale.Put together on the display table it looks like a cuckoo in the nest. Ian
