  1. Hey Brian,if you lend me that 2inch paintbrush you use to paint your models with I can dust mine off Ian Hey Tony You know me too well
  2. The decals came from a Carpena sheet of RAF serial letters,as mentioned below I think they were also done in 1/72 scale. Ian
  3. Thanks for the comments,if I remember rightly the decals are from a Carpena sheet of RAF serial letters, which I think were also done in1/72nd.Modeldecal used to have sheet with the 2 in the particular shape that you need,if you need any more info I have the Air Britain Harvard File which most of my research came from,I can scan pictures from it if you need a particular aircraft Ian
  4. I only built the Harvards to have a break from RAF/RCAF Sabres which are mounting up as I write,at least you can spray half a dozen of them at a time,I think I have about 16 Harvards RAF in different schemes.Only one yellow one,I hate spraying yellow paint Ian
  5. Naval hack from Abbotsinch Naval Air Station Ian
  6. Hi Folks Thought I would share some more of my Harvard fleet with you,all are painted with Xtra colour high speed silver with the decals coming mainly from after market sheets plus a few from the spares box.The two Navy ones are for my good friend Tony O'Toole who keeps bleating on that he does not see enough Naval aircraft on display. Two are the Occidental kit and the other is the Monogram all in148th scale. Please excuse the dust forgot to clean them. Ian
  7. Hi Folks As Harvards seem to be popular I thought I would post another aircraft used in the Mau Mau campaign. This is the Monogram kit with Freightdog decals.Still a nice kit for its age.Painted with Xtra colour RAF high speed silver. One thing about the Kenyan based Harvards was how clean they were kept. Ian
  8. Hi Folks The Harvard is the Occidental kit, decals were made up from Carpena sheets, info came from an old Flypast article where the aircraft is present in a photo albeit in the far distance. The rest of the research came from the Air Britain Harvard File. This is one of several I built from the same Harvard flight each with a different colour scheme. If any one knows what the NG in the triangle means I would appreciate an explanation. Ian
  9. This is my 1/48 scale Albatross after its first effort at painting, one or two blemishes but looks reasonable.A few places to touch in before final assembly. It will be finished as a 67 ARS aircraft based at Prestwick in the early sixties where I was fortunate enough to see quite few of them.
  10. This is my first Brimodeller post on this part of the forum,The Harvard is one from the RAFs flight of Harvards operating in Kenya in the early fifties Ian
  11. Some Harvards based in Northern Rhodesia had a triangle with the letters NG situated on the rear fuselage as did the ones used in Kenya during the Mau Mau uprising. At first I thought it was something to do with them being Africa based but then found a photo of one transferred from the UK to Kenya, does anyone have a suggestion what they meant? Any info welcomed Ian

  15. According to the Blackbushe Aviation Resarch Group Monograph on the RN use of the Skyraider the wheels and prop boss on 'B: Flight aircraft were painted different colours.WT944 had yellow applied during 1958 WV183 had blue applied at the same time. This would appear to have been a light blueThe other two aircraft colours are not mentioned,Hope this helps
