  3. I photographed the Skyray at the Pax River museum last year and was struck by how compact an aircraft it was.The Tamiya kit is very nice to build you will enjoy it. Ian
  4. I like the Beech 18,really unusual variation,I don't believe many of these conversions were manufactured. Ian
  5. Nice build,if I didn't have so many Sabres to build I could be tempted to start on Hunters. Ian
  6. Hi Brian,I always thought the Classic Airframes kit better than the Trumpeter one,it seemed to sit on its undercarriage better.I really like the Vanguard this one visited Prestwick on its way to some demo somewhere probably Canada. As to the shaky hands stay out the pub. Both nice builds. Ian

  10. Hi Folks Thought you would be interested in this Beaufighter, found the photo in our village antique shop of all places. It looks like the cooling gills are yellow outlined in black, there is another photo of this aircraft on the internet showing a flying side view. The photo is captioned Akrotiri 1956 presumably at an airshow.Apparently the aircraft was part of the Malta Station Flight and was visiting for the show. Ian

  14. Dont see many of these, nicely built and finished Ian
  15. Like the man said you can never have enough Sabres,I should know having built so many that it interferes with my modelling. Ian
  16. Hi Brian ,another nice build,I just can't get used to you spending a tenner!!!!!!!!! Ian
  17. Very nice, maybe I will have to buy the Alleycat version as I always liked the Tucano. Ian
  18. Hi Folks,a few more from my younger days, for some reason PT6 end up on real aviation so if you are interested thats where you will find it.The United Airlines Caravelle was one of 20 ordered by them, all transited Prestwick for refuelling only staying for around 1hr or so,I was lucky enough to photo 14 of them, this one was the 16th to pass through. The KLM DC8 was on a regular refuelling stop. The Super Constellations were regulars as well until KLM got enough DC8s to carry out the service, these were the only KLM aircraft to visit Prestwick in the old colour scheme after the adoption of the blue bars, the DC3s Convair 340s Viscounts and Electras all carried the blue tail scheme. The SAS Caravelle was a usual Saturday morning visitor replacing Convair 440s and the odd DC6 if the load exceeded the Convairs capacity. The Vanguard was probably crew training oh how we loved the fog to come down heavy at Renfrew when the ramp would be full of diversions.Enjoy. Ian
  19. Very nice work on what is a fairly primitive kit, photography really sets it off Ian
  20. This was just a few of the CF100s at Prestwick, the whole apron down the side of Scottish Aviation facing the US base was three deep in them. Ian
