Firepig

I'm enjoying building this kit but a few issues I would share: 1 The designer seems to have consistently underestimated the thickness of the kit plastic. As a result none of the locating tabs for the structural parts fit, but if you cut off or cut down the tabs, it goes together well. The bridge roof had to be thinned down to fit without protruding above the wall parts. 2 The minigun position on the deck below the bridge wing is completely missing. It is not included in the WEM PE set either. 3 From studying photos I'm convinced Airfix has put the waterline too high by 3 or 4mm. If you leave off the bottom part for a waterline model, it will look low in the water. The kit waterline is about where the top of the boot topping (the black stripe) should be. On the real ship the boot topping curves up towards the bow.
