We gave now 9 or 10 Dodgers. As mentioned in my OP there is a lot of scope to this. Different models can be entered, land, air or sea, any scale and any combatant. I'm still hoping for it to start on June 5th

M3 Scout, Italeri (ESCI) 1/72
Armor Novice replied to Marcel's topic in Ready for Inspection - Armour
Awesome paint job, the blending of the two colours is really good. I like the canvas cover of the car, setting it for a winter time Italy. Magnificent modeling here -
Lovely kit by all accounts. 5he tank riders, though of of the late war period, add so much to the scene. I do like the pole (telephone, or electric?) Flyhawk also add another version which has a turret with hatches open and metal barrel for the 45mm gun.

From Morocco to Messina 11/1942-8/1943
Armor Novice replied to vppelt68's topic in Groupbuild Proposals 2025
I may be persuaded to take part. The MTO is the area of my choice whenever I chose to make something -
Try Aleran Minnis http://aleranminis.com/index.php These are general markings, but I think you may find something there Also you may try the PSC decals themselves or decals from Flame of War site

The original post had some disappointing news. I was really hoping that the Neo Tracks will be a vast improvement over the, imho, horrible DS tracks. Most of my Dragon kits have replacement tracks, OKB Grigorov ones from resin, much better looking and mora lasting. As for the dreaded link & length tracks in 1/72 scale I think that assembling thos on a Universal Carrier from IBG will reveal how much a modeller is willing to endure while building his kits

Thanks for the encouragement, Corsairfoxfouruncle. Will do just that.

Seems interest is not so big as I hoped for. Are there no takers, or this thread is lost in the jungle of all the other threads.

So many kits, I'm sure almost anything can find it's way. As mentioned, there were many units from many nations. I would like to see what you come up with

A proposal for a small GB. This year marks 80 years to the landing in Normandy, but at the same time, in fact a day before D-day the city of Rome was liberated, the first capital city of to be so liberated. The Italian campaign is very much overlooked in the modeling world, the units and markings of vehicles and armour of that campaign is almost totally missing in any of the main stream kits manufacturers. I have a vested interest in that campaign as my late father served in the 8th Army from El Alamain all through to May 2nd (German surrender in Italy). So I would be interested if there is an interest of an Italian campaign GB.? There can be American, British, Canadians, polish, Brazilian and Free French and others to name a few, and on the opposing side we have Germans and Italians. The scope is big but I believe varied and may attract some interest.

D-Day 80th Anniversary 6th June - 27th September 2024
Armor Novice replied to JOCKNEY's topic in Future Group Builds
I might be able to chip in with something, probably an AFV in 1/72, but I wonder do any D-day Dodgers qualify? After all Rome was liberated on June 5th, just a day before D-day. -

Lovely vignette, at first I thought it was 1:35 scale as is the most common works, but than you had mentioned tiny fiddly parts, made me thinking "Aha, it's how I like it, 1:72 scale...". Well 1:48 is big for me. Non the less, excellent work -

British 2nd Army NW Europe 1944-45 and Sherman identification
Armor Novice replied to Devon Matt's topic in AFV WWII
Hello, and after seeing the two images, I noticed that the image of the units of the 2nd Army, contains the diablo sighn which says it's the 25th tank brigade, but as far as I know the 25th was part of the 8th Army in Italy, till it was disbanded and was reformed as 25th assault brigade in January 1945. The AoS of in question is of the 33rd armoured brigade.- 13 replies

Raf Hillman Tilly - colour scheme for Battle of Britain?
Armor Novice replied to Ralph's topic in AFV WWII
On the AoS of the monochrome picture There were 3 Infantry units with an AoS featuring a rose 23rd Infantry (Northambrian) which was disbanded after Dunkirk 55th Infantry (West Lancs) which ceased to exist at the end of 1942, and never left the UK. the last was the 71st Independent Infantry Brigade formed from 3rd London Infantry Brigade in 1940, but cease to be independent after June 1942. I believe the car is from the 55th the West Lancs. -

Armor Novice replied to Roman Schilhart's topic in Ready for Inspection - Armour
Really beautiful work on this little kit. Exceptional paintwork so superbly done -
I think that there is a slight size difference between the Airfix kit (supposed 1:76), and IBG (supposedly 1:72). I would like an idea which is really 1:72 scale. I'm watching this thread

@veg excellent builds, and welcome to the path of riches. Small scale armour is the way to go.
