  1. It looks a bit like the 'frosting' I sometimes get with zero single-pack clearcoat on my car models. If it is the same or similar, that will usually polish out with T-cut or similar. If it does work though, you'll probably end up with a high gloss finish & it'll likely need a matt coat.... Shame it's happened, as it's a cracking looking model! Keef
  2. Missed the start of this one Andy, but I'll be watching till the end now! Great work on that seat.....!! Keef
  3. Probably a bit late for these builds Mark, but do you know about the extratech etch sheets? They usually include pitot tubes & the like & they're available for most (if not all) the Revell 'buses; http://www.modelsforsale.com/catalog/advan...amp;x=9&y=7 Me, I'm too skint (just like Kev1n!! ) to buy them, so I'll stick with lead wire & plasticard!! Keef
  4. Your dad's build looks ace Mike! I tried hand painting some airliner models 'back in the day' - they didn't turn out like that!! What happened to that 707? And where's the pics of your 720 with the decals on.....??!! K
  5. Strewth - you don't hang about, do you Mark?! How long did you let the Pearl paint on the fuselage dry before masking for the red?? Keef
  6. Looks good!! Spray it over the red as well Mark, just to see what it looks like..... I've got some of that paint in stock. Just need a big 'Bus or 747 to put it on. Will have to see if there's any decals for that scheme for a 1/200 744... Keef
  7. They look brilliant Mark! I love the Emirates scheme (even if they are stupid enough to sponsor Arsenal ) - that 'bus is going to be a stunner when done. And the Virgin jet won't look too shabby either....!!! Keef
  8. Never mind, there's always next time....!! And it's still a fantastic idea, beautifully done! Keef
  9. Is it something in the water, or are all Greek people just born with the talent to be fantastic modellers??!! That is a stunning model - & for your second one - just brilliant!! Absolutely lovely build, superb interior, excellent paintwork -just great all round!! Keef
  10. Just come across this one - & have to say it is simply lovely!! Great airbrushing, fantastic looking aeroplane - top bombing!! Excellent model!! Keef
  11. Really nice, is that!! What did you use for the High Speed Silver, looks just right? Keef
  12. Very, very nice!! Looks brilliant with the stands 'removed'!! Only very minor nitpick I have is that seeing as how you have the RIO's heads turned to the right, I think you should also have done that to the pilot in 104 - he'd have his eyes glued on his leader's jet when flying that close formation!! Great work though, very cool!! keef
  13. Lovely jubbly Michael, likes that I does!! Are you bringing it along to the next meeting (if you're not being banished to the Midlands again??!!) Great looking paintjob (if maybe a little too clean for me & Clivey.... ) K
  14. Lovely!! Both model & photo's! Great job!! Keef
  15. Some old 1/24 rally cars (& a couple of airyplanes!) from me.... Nigel Heath's Zebra Scooby (Tamiya kit/Studio 27 decals); European Rally Championship Ferrari 308 (Racing 43 Big Model, all white metal kit. Heavvvvy!!!); The original two wheel drive Citroen Xsara 'kit car' of Philippe Bugalski (in which he won a tarmac WRC round beating all the works 4WD WRC cars!) Rennaisance resin kit; Bruno Thiry's Rally Condroz winning Scooby (tamiya kit with Reji decals - absolute pain to use!) And just a few old aircraft as well (I was just cleaning out my photobucket album too when I saw the thread!!) All these are getting on for a decade old! - Final countdown diorama. 1/144th scale - LS Tomcat & a converted Revell Mk1 Spitfire (!!) in the water.... Aki (??) 1/72nd Firebrand; Fujimi 1/72 Toom; And a much loved Aeroclub 1/48 JP; That's all folks Keef

    Some of my work

I've been reliably informed by my stores ''expert'' that they're "..TERMA pods, latest and classified self defence system for the sandbox, Harriers are carrying them too on their belly pylons, although the pod is a different shape." Agreed on the pics, lovely stuff!! I'd also like to see a close up of the Wokkas nose art! Keef
  17. Something with a bit more body than XF7 I'd guess.....!! Think I might join you!! Keef
  18. Good news! And yes, your candy red looks good! (I did the same thing on a w.i.f. 21st Century toys BF109 Reno Racer for a club comp recently. Surprising how much depth you can get with the Tamy clear colours!) Keef
  19. Morning Mark, I thought the same - but that second photo made me think otherwise! I wonder whether later repaints may have had the pearlescent clear coats applied to the red as well?? Just wild guessing there, but it does look to have the same 'metallic' sheen as the rest of the fuselage.... I don't know if Nick Millman ventures into this side of the forum, but he seems to be a bit of a colour guru so may have a conversion chart that could help? Maybe a pm to him..... Keef
  20. I'm confuddled now too Jon - I thought isopropanol was just the trade (or pharmaceutical) name for isopropyl alchohol?? I thought you meant that the 'industrial' stuff was 99% IPA, whereas what I was calling 'normal' was what I assumed to be a lower % solution IPA. Whatever, it works well for thinning Tamy acrylics!! Keef
  21. This episode should be of special interest to this forum - building the aircraft!! Some excellent scratchbuilding going on......!! Keef
  22. I find they thin & spray really well with 'normal' Isopropanol that you can get from the chemist. If they give you a funny look & ask what you want it for, just tell them thinning acrylic paint!! Tamy acrylics do work OK with cellulose thinner, but I find they dry a bit too quickly when using cellulose & have a 'dusty' finish on the model. Keef
  23. Gorgeous Mike, just gorgeous!! I take it you survived your night away in Wolves then.....???!!! K
  24. That looks great! Very believable looking too!! Keef
