  1. Great work. I l also plan to do restoration of couple of models I did when I was way to inexperienced. Thaksk for the motivation 🙂
  2. NOT WIP anymore ..Finally done!!! 🙂 (sorry for delay Julien) I did do way more modifications than originally planned 🙂 My son also finished his Harrier GR1. It was a great weekend! I might repaint to a more gray paint but not until I get new set of decals that are better quality and more complete. Hope you like it.
  3. I had to rebuild rear exaust V- tail end as it got damaged during another process. You might have seen missing V joints on the lower right photo above in the last post. I made it out of clear thin 0.7mm Polycarbonate plastic sheet . I use putty for car repair to fill in a lot of gaps that were not OK with me for a stealth plane. 🙂 By the end of this week I plan to show final product finally. My son is also finishing his Harrier.
  4. Can you show the photo of what you are looking for? Is it like this 1/32 grey tiger skin?
  5. Cutting those tiles in was no fun but i think it payed off. I will show final results when all is painted.
  6. I finally got back to this project and made more progress. Tough incorrect part is almost done. Hope to start working on the outside of the plane soon. Good trick Neu. Thanks I am using same trick but instead of tube I use oval end of paint brush to forn inlet hole. The engine exhausts are horribly made and are not quite coming together. Vertical side walls are too short and have no tiles pattern so I had to cut them in with razor blade. They don't go nearly far enough inside towards the engine so you can see ugly holes and interior between them and the engine. I cut some clear plastic parts to extend them and form engine enclosed engine exhausts. Almost done with rear end. I'll post photos of progress tonight.
  7. Finally found some time to make progress this week. Now I need to do a lot of sanding to make it smooth. It looks better when both halves of the fuselage are put together. I got these Sandits to help with sanding intakes. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073SHXL6L?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
  8. I'm also modifying this air mash part of the intake to closer match the original.
  9. Thans! Much appreciated. I decided to go with "green stuff" epoxy putty to create inside shape of the intakes. A bit tough and resilient to use, but has a lot of potential. The photos on the links above help a lot. I also googled a bunch. I'll try to make it to appear as close as I can. I'll post some photos here just in case it all ends up like I imagined. Cheers 🍻
  10. Hello everyone, this is my first post here. I started building YF-23 1/72 by Testors. I noticed that air intakes are made to be only covered and not open like they are when plane is flying. This is because they don't include air tunnel that leads to engine fan like they do in 1/48 scale YF-23 models. They suggest painting intakes black 😕. I also noticed that almost no one shows this on youtube, or photos online in any 1:72 scale YF-23 that i could find. I guess it doesn't look too good. I don't think I want to paint intake black and just cover it. The intake is a big part of the unique design of this aircraft. I will try to modify them by creating the curved air tunnels that lead air to engins. That way I can paint all of that dark gray like the rest of the body. Has anyone attempted this? Lucky for 1/48 scale they took care of that. As far as I know all 1/72 YF-23 have intake blocked like this: (I have only temporarily glued these parts for photo purpose) Final result: (se progress below, and more final photos)
