  1. Thanks @Kingsman and @Troy Smith for the tips - apologies for not responding sooner. @Mike Starmer - thanks - will do!
  2. This looks great! Can i ask what you used for the weathering? I'm just about to start building the 1/35 kit and I'm not a big fan of the really severe weathering that i see on a lot of builds - you've gone for the right level on subtle/low-key-but-effective that I'm after!
  3. Thanks a lot @Kingsman. I've mostly avoided AK in the past because of the lacquer but it seems maybe the Gen 3 range don't have lacquer and are just standard acrylic so i'll take a look. I take it it's best to thin them with their own brand thinner rather than using Vallejo thinner with them? Cheers again for the advice mate.
  4. Hi all, First post! I'm a seasoned (albeit average!) sci-fi tabletop gaming painter and have just decided to have my first crack at a WWII Tamiya kit. I picked up the 1/35 Matilda Mk.III/IV kit this week from a very friendly chap in the Greenford branch of Hobbycraft. I'd like to paint it in the caunter scheme as I want to have a proper go at masking. I'm conscious though that the colour advice in the kit is incorrect (namely the light blue) and I would also, if possible, like to stick to Vallejo or Citadel paints as these are the paint systems I'm already heavily invested in. So here's my query - can anybody suggest which colours I should replace the suggested Tamiya colours with? Ideally from the Vallejo Model Air range, or Citadel? Tamiya suggest XF-23, XF-59, XF-1 and XF-26 for reference. I see there's a Vallejo Caunter set: https://acrylicosvallejo.com/en/product/hobby/sets/afv-color-series/british-caunter-colors-71211/ and it suggests Portland Stone, Dark Green and Silver Grey. Is that my best bet? And how about colours for the non-armour? Ie tracks, stowage etc? Any advice on what to go with? Would be great to get some advice from anyone who's built this kit Many thanks, Toby
