  1. No probs,it reminds me of the photo of a JU88/Fw190 Mistel that was allegedly fitted with upward firing cannons that turned out to be a ladder leant against the far side fuselage.
  2. A is a vent ,B is the antena/aerial pole on top of the cockpit!

Time to sell my Matchbox kit.
  4. If you want to use Humbrol enamels the top surface and top sides are 165 , lower sides and belly is 167 and under wings is 166. Some times belly gun packs were left unpainted ,use some real images for reference. Nick
  5. Thanks for all the kind comments chaps,i can see a couple more being built in the future. 'White Knuckle Airlines' included.
  6. A couple of build errors but enjoyed it none the less.
  7. I think there may be an error on a couple of stencil decals on both schemes in this kit. Decals 89 and 72 on scheme A and decals 143 and 160 on scheme B should be numbered the other way round. Can someone confirm?
  8. Confirmed, thats what i did (hangs head in shame) .Sorry Airfix .What a nightmare i have re attaching the wing again. Oh and dambuster it only took a polite comment like above to give me an idea what i did wrong. And i resent the comment on my skill level.Never made a mistake before? I'll gladly post pics of all my recent builds if you like. Nick
  9. Ive been putting it off removing the wing concerned due to having almost completed the model and fear fatally damaging it, i will let you know tonight. Deep breath!
  10. Another issue but found out to late!!!! Port wing is around 3-4 mm forward of the starboard ,what is going on?! There is no way one can make a mistake in building this, as wing spars go through the fuselage and in to specific slots in the wings. http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg58/fastwalker1/IMG_5170.jpg http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg58/fastwalker1/IMG_5165.jpg http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg58/fastwalker1/IMG_5164.jpg
  11. I must admit ,this is the first issue i have had with Airfix,s new mold kits.
  12. As Dan says, fixable. Easy enough when the other half is in place, but ill check more carefully before starting my next Shackleton.
  13. See here on the wing, part 6 frame B.Anyone else had this problem? http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg58/fastwalker1/IMG_5140.jpg http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg58/fastwalker1/IMG_5139.jpg
  14. Jim,the only thing i altered was to sand off the kits original wing fences and moved them inboard using plastic card. I also filled in the third passenger window from the front on both sides but this depends on how it was configured at the time.I also extended and sharpened the nose by a couple of mm using Tipex, early model 1-11's as the kit depicts were rather rounded. And other than rescribing the major panel lines and figuring out the antena/aerial fitment thats about it.
