  1. Hello everyone, it wasn't just complaining, it was just that I didn't really understand why Airfix's decision made sense. Why now and then when this market segment is already well covered. As Gorgio N. already mentioned with the (good) Zvezda kit for beginners and the Eduard products for advanced users. And just for the pedants: I also know the AZ Bf 109 F series. πŸ˜‰ I'm interested in, why Airfix wants to serve a market segment, that has been ignored for years and, in my opinion, is now completely covered? Why didn't Airfix have this idea much earlier? πŸ€” Now feel free to discuss. Thanks.
  2. Hello Airfix, why now and at this price? For years, since 1990, I have been praying for a decent 1/72 scale Bf 109 F kit. It wasn't until 2005 that Fine Molds produced an acceptable kit. Unfortunately, it was difficult to obtain and traded at a high price. Why didn’t Airfix recognize this market back then? Since last year you can finally purchase a good Bf 109 F kit (Profipack) from Eduard at a reasonable price. I can buy the kit, including shipping, for under 20 euros from a German or Polish dealer. So why should you now pay around €30 for a kit for €10.53 (market price at Hannants) + tax + shipping + delivery fee (for the tax at DHL, €6 in Germany)? And that brings me back to my question, why now and at this price, or should I say β€œGood morning Airfix?” πŸ€”
  3. It is indeed a shame that both lower wings were not included in the kit. Personally, I would use the Overtrees or the professional F-4 kit from Eduard for the Bf 109 F-4 in order to be able to build the remaining marking variants. In the end, the professional kit (with masks and etched parts) would be the cheaper kit. πŸ˜‰
  4. First of all, I would like to emphasize that I am very happy and grateful to finally have a good Bf-109 in the F version, available at a good price-performance ratio. I also gave my personal opinion. Not everyone has to like these. Mea culpa maxima. My disappointment is that Eduard appreciated every possible variant with its own fuselage or wing part for the FW 190 in 1/72. As an example FW 190 A-5: wing with MG FF, wing without MG FF. Another example FW 190 A-8 fuselage normal, fuselage A-8/R8 with additional armor. Here, too, Eduard could have included the additional armor as a PE or PUR part for cost reasons. But there was a new hull for the "Stormchaser". Again, I'm not talking about counted rivets or the depth of the panel joints, I'm talking about things that would have made the kit a little more customer friendly. I personally don't like spatula, sanding and engraving orgies. Maybe I was just spoiled by the FW 190 and expected something equivalent for the Bf-109F. 😧
  5. Unfortunately, my high hopes were disappointed. 😞 Let's start with the hulls. Unfortunately, there is no fuselage with the special wing-fuselage transitions for the announced serial number 5628 (main identification SG+GW) shown in the set of decals. 😲 Next there are the undersides of the wings. There were no MG 131s in the F version, except for Galland's field conversion. Why the case ejection shafts for MG 131s, the later G-5 to G-14, are shown on the underside of the wing is not clear to me. The maintenance hatch for the FuG 25a under the fuselage was also first available with the G-2 version. πŸ˜’ Then, the already mentioned additional windscreen armor. This is designed separately for gluing to the windscreen and, in my opinion, makes no sense on this scale. Why can Spezial Hobby model something like this for their E version and Eduard can't do it? Eduard had the opportunity to offer the first error-free kit of a Bf 109 F in 1/72 to the model building community and, in my opinion, unfortunately missed this opportunity. A pity.😒
  6. It's not the cross or what it stands or should stand for, what bothers me is who donated it and what ideology is associated with that person. πŸ˜’ It also bothers me how this person destroyed the world and Germany. I just hate dictatorships and dictators because it's always the "normal" people who pay for what these stinkers do. 😠
  7. Eduard changed the decal selection again. Bob now has the yellow 3, Nowotny has the yellow 8. Also included are Gerlitz, Priller and I think Wurmheller. Thank God not this Knight's Cross.πŸ˜‰
  8. Then it's an Iron Knight's Cross... πŸ˜‰ As already mentioned, I would rather have the main wheels and the MG 17 (Eduard Brassin ED672315) in the box than this nonsense. 😏 But life is unfortunately not a pony farm...
  9. Taylor Durban says "Ouuuuhhhh look at this boxart. And with a β€žEisernes Kreuzβ€œ within? Those damn Eduard guys know how to make hart modellers weak…" That's not an Iron Cross, it's a denazified Knight's Cross... I would prefer the announced wheels of the main landing gear (Eduard Brassin ED672316) as an "encore".
  10. I'll definitely buy the set. As far as I know, no manufacturer has a Bf 109 F-1. I hope Eduard has implemented the transition from the wing to the fuselage correctly. What really annoys me are the transparent parts of the cockpit. The armored glass pane in front of the pulpit as a separate part is just silly for me on this scale. A front part with and one without armored glass pane like Special Hobby's kit of the Bf 109 E-4/7 would have made more sense. But maybe there will be a new cockpit, like the 1/48 variant, including a new cockpit as Eduard Brassin in 1/72 and then with bulletproof glass? For Pizzapaolo: Only 10? Lucky you. I have over 40 left in stock and still need this set. I think I should seek professional psychiatric help... πŸ€ͺ
  11. I can't wait to see the clear parts. Hopefully Eduard has done away with this fiddling with the bulletproof glass pane. Furthermore, it is questionable whether the deeper oil cooler (FΓΆ 870) is included with the F-4 Z version or whether it will be a separate kit like Fine Molds (FL5).Happy Easter to everyone in the world.
  12. I am German myself and was born in the GDR in the late 60's. Due to my upbringing and my own point of view, I am critical of National Socialism. In my history class at school, the story ended in 1933 and continued in 1945. So when I was 12, I started asking questions that my grandparents (they came from what is now Poland) didn't want or couldn't answer. Things like the Hitler-Stalin pact and pro-fascist states in Europe in the 1930's were completely hushed up. Only after reunification in Germany did I get the answers I was looking for! And I can accept the facts as they are now. In the meantime, I hate any form of dictatorship, whether national socialist, communist or postcommunist because the individual plays no role in them. After Iraq and Afghanistan, everyone should know that wars cannot be won! They cost lives and are just a waste of money and resources! We have other problems in the world! However, ever since I was a 9 year old boy I have been fascinated by german Air Force aircraft from ww 2. I can't say why, it just is. That's why I'm glad that Eduard has opened up to the 1/72 community and they are also trying to fulfill these wishes. It would be good if other companies besides Fine Molds and now hopefully Eduard, had brought a good and buildable Bf 109 F in 1/72 to the market. Hoping for peace in the world! Sorry for the english - it was google translator... πŸ™‚ Gustl
  13. I would like to express one more wish. Hopefully the decals aren't always the same, but pay tribute to the lesser-known Luftwaffe fighter pilots.
  14. Finally Eduard answered the prayers. I hope Eduard will work with Spezial Hobby again. Your Bf 109 E is absolutely state of the art. Hopefully the entire range from the Bf 109 F-2 to the Bf 109 F-4/Z will be covered. I love Spezial Hobby's solution for adding armor to the canopy. No stupid gluing of the additional armored disc. Thank you Eduard! πŸ˜‰
  15. I've been waiting for a good kit for the Bf 109 F-G-4 for 30 years now. I'm tired of waiting and running out of time to see building this kit. So Eduard get into your slippers!
