  1. Troy, thank you for that...I have lurked on here for quite some time and have noticed there are some very knowledgeable people on this site, yes. Neutral grey it is then
  2. Eduard's instrument panel color reminds me of early war RLM02 color if anything....at least mine is. Far from the XF-22 color Tamiya would have you paint the interior surfaces. While the VVS site was still up, I remember seeing A-14 as an interior color being called out. If my memory serves me correctly, the FS reference stated was 26187...not exactly light, unless A-14 wasn't used in Il-2M3's
  3. Looking for a website or publication that shows the rivet detail...metal wing, two small square access hatches. Know of a reference?
  4. My instructions never even said to apply decal #1 to the instrument panel. As far as I can see from Scalemates, yours doesn't either. Mine doesn't mention decal #2. I think I am going to put it on the side wall next to the pilot. as good a spot as any.
  5. Steve, I have the 242A kit and step 25 actually states the add 15grams of weight under the cockpit floor. Mine did not come with masks either, which I will have to do some of my own as a A is somewhat different than a B version.
  6. I have the 1/48 HKM on the bench and to the part where I need to dot the headrest. Under normal circumstances, I would guess. But this a rather prominent part that be seen quite easily, I best get it right. Anyone have a diameter in their notes? Seach only led to discussions as to its possible purposes. But nothing on it, itself.
  7. I tend to agree. I think the black and white photo colorization thing got the best of them and the colors are reversed. Their dark brown is actually a lighter 02 shade and is totally plausible in my thinking.
  8. Mates, Just ordered the ICM 1/48 glider for a future project for the bench for 2023. One camo scheme that intrigued me was the "tiger striped" Russian campaigned option, similar to this one from I./LL2 ICM's color call outs would have you paint the standard camo two colors of grey and a brown striping overlay. First off, never heard of any Luftwaffe a/c painted 74/75 on the topsides other than fighters, 70/71 greens would have been my guess. And second, where did the brown come from? Not actually brown? Liberated Russian stock/mixed? Any scientific guesses?
  9. A question about the black under surfaces of night fighter mosquitoes, on the later Mk. XII and newer with A.I. radar noses, I see a mixed reference to some with and some without the black applied. Was there a memo handed down from Fighter Command on this or was this more of a unit level thing that was found to be of no use? I see 99% if not all NF.30 did not have the black so at some point it was not needed, or fitters were told not to apply it. Google hasn't been my fiend and wartime pics are few.
  10. Gents, on a Mk.1a, specifically X4593 from the BoB time period. When did the cockpit swing down door go from a ring and lanyard to the lever style release? Eduard gives you both in PE.
