  1. Thank's for feedback colleagues! And really new and useful idea to make last photo with real plane and model in the same position
  2. Nice work, congratulations! And that's cool that we have one more civil liners builder here Lufthansa livery is classical and strict but looks very representative on any plane from E-190 to A-380. BTW it's first time I see A-320 with no gray corogard on upper part of the wing. So I looked for some photos and that's certainly correct! One more new fact for me.
  3. So... let's continue. Now I'm about to finish the most boring stage when you are to mask anything for 30 minutes just to airbrush for 2 minutes. Engines are almost ready. Despite their not best way of division, I painted them successfully as a result. Also undercarriage is painted as well as wheels and ready to be installed. So the main task is fuselage painting, and the most complicated for me is to get straight and neat border of colours on the fuselage. I' ve masked it using photos of real plane, Revell's paint instructions and even a laser pointer. As result I've got something like this: Actually, first of my "adult" models with bicolour livery. After been painted it was like this. So till now it's painted the bottom, wings in light gray, as well as tail stabilizers, and corogard in dark-gray. And the main exciting me question is HOW MUSCH blue paint I'll see on upper white part of fuselage, when I'll remove masks (I'm certainly sure that it WILL BE some blue over white))) But before removing masks, I have to paint last colour - aluminium for wing-edges. This is task for tomorrow. And after it will dry up, the moment of Truth will come. Respects, tMikha
  4. Hello everyone! Today I'm glad to introduce once more of my models, and to finish the "parade" of 737-family. The last one is most popular today type 737-800. Zvezda kit is neat, easy to build and needs only few putty, especially compared to previous EE 737-100. I've thought about livery choose for last one 737 for a long time. First I really wanted to build it in NOK-air bird livery, but later decided that it's too complicated for my skill till that days. Another one idea was Aeroflot classic old livery, but I am not a fan of "whatif" liveries. Finally I stopped choosing and purchased another one high quality and easy-to buy in RF livery from PAS. OK, it's another one standard and not eye-catching design. But first, I was a passenger on Nordwind couple of times (though flights were operated on 321) and the second and main reason that I've sent to trip this plane for great number of times as a handling-supervisor. Nordwind is one of Russian companies, far not the biggest but well-known inside the country. They operate park of different aircrafts (737's, A-321, 777-200 and -300). Mainly they perform domestic flights, and flights to Antalya (AYT) during high-season as well. In addition, I have warm feelings for this carrier for their easy-to-communicate and not arrogant flight attendants. Serving their flights, you will never be denied a cup of hot coffee in the cold season, a bottle of Cola in the hot, or some food if you feel hungry. So, enough lyrics, let's talk about painting First I've used ZIP-maket primer (that time I usually used it, but later replaced it with Decorix from a can). Grey colour of fuselage was mixed by eye from mr. Hobby #1 + Tamiya XF-24 Dark grey. Wings are painted by eye as well, the difference is in quantity of grey paint. Then I've chosen correct colour for engines, but finally stopped on Mr. Hobby H-18 steel. As I think, it's not far from real colour. Wheels, undercarriage and gear-flaps painted with zvexzda #30 light gray. Tyres covered with XF-85 Tamiya Rubber black. Wing-edges ant other heated areas painted with X-11 Chrome silver. Pledge future before and prior decals, as usual. And final layuer is mixed Future with 5% of X-21 Flat base. Decals from PAS are wery high-quality as usual. Technical inscriptions and others - from the included decal-sheet. (Basically it's Utair livery out-of box) Also I've added beacon on the top of fuselage (on the bottom there are a hole for the rack), and red and green lights on the wing-tips. Though highest quality, the decal has few minor disadvantages. For example, instead of "www.nordwindairlines.ru" on real plane, this inscription without WWW on decal-sheet. And what was pointed later by colleagues, I've applied some inscriptions not enough straight, and destroyed little red N logos on the engines. It's all on the side of my crooked hands Model was finished in last days of 2021. The last two fotos is for compare with prototype of the model. Respects, tMikha.
  5. That old jet liners from "golden era" are handsome! Congratulations, very neat and pretty model. Thank's for sharing!
  6. It sounds really impressive! In 1988 I was 2 yrs old, that was still Soviet Union, I used to walk under table on my knees, and mom tried to catch me for feeding with Yugoslavian baby-meals. And 320 1/144 already was available! Now I'm an grown man with bald head, who supervises loading and ground handling of that 320-s! Sorry if I'm quite sentimental now, but sometimes dates shock me
  7. Hmmm, in my sheet there were white backgrounds for mice-faces decals, thats no problem. But there was no frames for passengers windows - and it's most upset in this decal from PAS. Now I have some windows decal for 320, hope I will apply it in few days and make a new photo session with it. Today model is incomplete without this decals, black windows on blue fuselage don't look good. And, BTW, 30+ years is great skill, my kind admire for this. I'm only 2 years in the theme)))
  8. Thanks for feedback! Really, it wasn’t as difficult as I thought before started work.
  9. Nice Eurowings BTW and interesting info about early Revell 320 kits. Before this I thought that all Revell 320 were the same plastic and all difference was decals in boxes. And you wouldn't believe - I have the same one in collection and more of it - the reason for this livery was near the same as yours. The thing is that it was my very first model assembled about two years ago. (Revell A320 airBerlin kit). So you understand what FIRST model looks like))))) It was painted with brush, and looked really terrible. First it was in Air Astana livery. And so once I decided to do some experiment to "resuscitate" the model. I removed undercarriage, engines and tail stabilisers. Then removed all that fat paint layers. So blue livery lets me hide most disadvantages. Unfortunately PAS doesn't give us windows edges but I plan to apply it from other decal-sheet. Now model is on the shelf but looks poor without windows edges.
  10. Another great model of yours! It's hard to find the words how precisely and pretty looks this 320! Additions are great as well. And just like you, sometimes I apply not interesting and not pretty-looking but rare liveries of small companies. Because there are thousand of AirFrance-Lufthansa-Aeroflot etc famous big carriers models built by modellers, but it's pleasant to have my own and unique model on the shelve
  11. from another one newbie! And it's excellent that you turned back to the hobby!
  12. Thank you for kind feedback! I've read enough reviews of EE kits, and unexpectedly, their A-220 (former Bombardier CS-300) is well-done enough, as well as A-310. About 737CL it's truth. I've seen couple of really nice-looking ready models, but modellers who assembled that planes said it's quality is something made in hell and took too much time to built acceptable model.
  13. Hello there! Today I've uploaded one more of my B-737's park Model from Eastern Express well-known for it's poor quality. But it's the only way to built 737-100. First, I used half a kilo of Tamiya Putty and one meter of sanding paper to get normal surface and to fill all the junction points After Zvezda kits that was really complicated work but interesting as well. I've built 737-MAX8 (presented on this resource a few days before) and decided to make "grandfather" for it. 737-100 looks really interesting and a few funny when compared with NG or MAX. It's so short, and seems "fat" but with the same nose part. Old-school livery is amazing with shine of aluminium on the fuselage. I don't understand, why such liveries with shine naked aluminium are not used by carriers today. First commercial flights of 737-100 were performed in Lufthansa in 1969. So, it's 53 years history and 4 generations of 737 till today. Model packed in pretty box with interesting box-art of 737-100 with steps and flight crew getting out from plane to crew bus. Inside the box there is only one pocket with dark grey plastic, looks sad... Also scheme of assembly and decal-sheet for LH included. As i've said, the most difficult part was to sand all the joints. Also it was a big task to assembly pilot's windows. There are only one piece of bad-looking plastic in the kit. Also, there is no windows for passengers in the kit. Really I always try to make gloss windows as it possible, and much less I like decals for windows. But this time I had no skill and enthusiasm to drill the windows. For cockpit I used masks from KAV-models. ZIP-maket primer and Mr. Hobby H-1 for white colour. And here I must to say few words about livery. I do not pretend to be one 100 % historical compliance with the prototype. Firstly, apparently different planes and in different periods of time were painted differently. The border of gray and metallic on the bottom is located differently on different sides and in different photos. I took as a basis a certain averaged version of livery. Silver is Tamiya X-11 "chrome silver". Grey colour mixed from Mr.Hobby H-1 and some dark-grey Tamiya. The decal is high quality enough, easy to apply. But the other side that it's very poor, with no technical inscriptions at all. So I've used the rest decals from previous 737 and also realistic windows instead of included in kit. The silver edging of the windshield was made by myself from scraps. It was another one not easy job. In the end I added ligts in the wing-edges and beacons on fuselage. Also I redesigned the hubcaps of the outer wheels of the main landing gear - what the EE gives in the set looks really toylike. Pledge Future as first lacquer layer prior decals and after as well. Mechanization of wing and engines got a little dirty with oil-paints. Final lacquer is mix from Future and about 5% of Tamiya X-21 flat base. Summing up - it's not the best of my models, but taking int account quality of EE-kit, I was satisfied with the result. Respects, tMikha.
  14. Thank you! Just now I'm going to airbrush second layer of white. About "stitching" - that's my bad English . I don't know correct word for it, and translator gave me that "stitching" What I meant, it's lines on the wings of liner, that situated between static and deflected surfaces (flaps, spoilers, slats) Picture will show it easier than words
  15. Good day! Let's keep on with the model. As i planned, engines were covered with one more layer. Now I like how it looks. For engines remains only grey colour for pylons, but this procedure I'll make once with painting of wings. Fuselage was sanded finally and first layer of Mr. Hobby H-1 was applied. That's for what i like so much this paint - nice gloss surface. Usually it's enough one painting session. But this time there are some darkness can be seen through first layer. Also I've forgotten one moment: blue colour of bottom doesn't reach the tail, so i have to paint tail part of the plain in white as well as upper part. Also it was enough of my enthusiasm to start with undercarriage. Wheels from the kit unfortunately have large casting defects. So I've purchased additional set of high-copy wheels. I've airbrushed with Mr.Hobby H-77 "tyre black", using masks. So for today my plan is minimal: first to airbrush one more white layer in the fuselage. And paint details of undercarriage. Mr. Hobby needs long time enough for dry up, so today I'll not be able to proceed with blue colour for fuselage. It's task for tomorrow and yes, I'm about to start the most boring part of masking all that possible
  16. Ou-DA (ooh-yes!) These Arab countries liveries are handsome and rich-looking and Etihad is the most perfect of them! Great work and congratulations! Nice aircraft miniature
  17. Ок)) I’ll tell them it’s not safety, and, sure, they’ll add two cones in front of the nose and behind tail as well
  18. Usually "whatifs" is not close to me, but this one is impressive and really complicated work that done very neat! Congratulations! And one little thing as always, a few criticism about stitching. It's eternal discussion between authors - to do or not to do stitching. IMHO only few stitching on the wings would give model a lot of realism. What about fuselage - I saw guys who made stitching there too, but it doesn't look well, on real civil plane fuselage stitching is invisible, in contrast to the wings. But, once again - just my opinion about it. I learned about progress of this 380, and realised that as a modeller your skill is 10 to 1 against me))))
  19. Yesterday plan was realised. As usual, the worst place of the surface is near cockpit and primer had shown this. By this reason I've applied a few more putty. Later today I'll need to sand tis places tidily (not to damage masks and cabin windows) and apply a few more primer. After primer dries out (2 hr enough for sure), the plane will be ready for basic white painting. Also engines are painted in royal-blue. But I think, there was too liquid paint, so one more layer is to be done. And if I'll have enough desire, undercarriage assembling also will be started. Respects, tMikha.
  20. Thank’s. I will try not to protract with the model and describe process in details.
  21. Hello all! I've decided to tell and show my progress in 320NEO building and painting. First, I've built 4 737's different generations. And later decided to go on with his main competitor A320. First model from Zvezda was finished yet. And now I compare kits from two manufactures and build 320NEO from Revell. So till today I have done this basic work First, it was really useful advise for Revell kits - to paint in dark colour from inside. Otherwise ready model will be yelowish if positioned under bright sun shine. I've used decorix the primer from the cylinder - it has strong adhesion and easy-to apply. So, while fuselage dries up, I've painted cockpit interior. In Russian model communities you can often read something like "I've spent a lot of time for interior but actually, it's "gopher". This slang comes from one old russian comedy. It was one dialogue there: -Do you see the gopher? -No, I don't. -And I don't see, but the gopher exists! So this case is certainly about "gopher" - it's unreal to explore cabin interior in 1/144 scale on ready model. So I must to confess - I hadn't spent too mush time for perfect painting of interior. My "gopher" is ready So on, the next day I pasted the cockpit and nose gear niche into fuselage. Plus for more reliability added a piece of plastic between them. As Revell says in instruction, 10 g weight was added. I think couple of rubles and some plasticine will be enough And clear details of passenger windows are already mounted. Later I'll protect them using masks. Now we are reapy to connect two parts of our fuselage together. Next day I've mounted cockpit clear detail, and began work with engines. Cockpit detail рas not been established very neat, so I was forced to use some putty, then apply sanding paper (from 600 to 2500 grain size) And what about engines - in many Reviews Revell was blamed that engines division is very complicated, illogical and heavy-to paint. Well, I must agree with that reviews. For example, I can't imagine how to airbrush this detail in two colours. So I airbrushed in steel Mr. Hobby H-18 and then painted light grey Zvezda paint #30 using usual brush. Then also I've painted with Tamiya X-11 chrome silver the shapes of blades. You can see the left and right details before and after. So... now engines are glued together, and today plan is to finish with cockpit and engines grinding, add masks and cover with decorix white primer on my plane plus paint engines main colour (I've applied primer onto all small details before assembly). I think to use MAKR "royal blue" #47 for this. Maybe it's not the certain colour of BA engines, but as i think it's somwhere close to the truth. So, hope it's would be interesting to view project. Criticism is welcome Respects, tMikha.
  22. Wow! It always characterizes air-company from the good side if it doesn't forget history and operates at least one modern aircraft in history livery! Nice foto
  23. Wow! I see you are real fan of TU-134. And I think, you know, in Russia it's used to be called "whistle" (SVISTOK in russian) - because this small liner was the noisest one
