  1. Thanks for the advice. Here's a little spreadsheet I've tried to start working on while researching a bit. It's hard to find what you're looking for as either a) most don't use aqueous paint or b) the colors have changed in recent years.
  2. I'm starting to make a list of things to get started and am looking for recommendations on aqueous acrylic paints that can be airbrushed and hand brushed. The three I've kind of narrowed it down to are the Mr. Paint water based, the Vallejo Air, and the Mr. Hobby aqueous. I don't mind spending more money for better paints as I've learned through spraying a few guitars and such that you tend to get what you pay for. I don't get on well with lacquer paints even with a respirator and extraction hood as the vapors coming off days after the fact set my asthma off so I'm sticking with water based and will deal with their issues as best I can. So, are those three worth trying, or are there others I should look at? And is one brand better for say, metallics, or other colors, than another? FWIW, I will have to mail order everything pretty much as we live out in the middle of nowhere. The nearest hobby shop is 120 miles away for instance.
  3. Hello everyone. I’ve been lurking a bit and decided to register finally. I made a handful of models, mostly cars, when I was a kid 40+ years ago. Mostly glue covered messes with terrible paint jobs Anyway, fast forward to 52 and I was researching airbrushes for doing some fades on a couple guitar kits I have in the works and these really nice models keep popping up and I think, well that looks fun and I need one more hobby. My main hobbies have been electronics (hi-fi amps and such) and guitar effects pedals for the last 10 years or so. Being a beginner, literally, I need to acquire everything and will need advice on that and what models would be appropriate to start with (interested in planes and tanks).
