1/48 Lockheed Hudson - Contrail Vacform

Vacforms always struck the fear of god into me; will watch this with interest. The 'spirit of truth in advertising warning' missed one key one: May Cause Premature Ageing and High Blood Pressure Ciao -

I hope you will try to sell to more than China, people from all over the globe would be your marketplace. -

That's great work; I'm having waking nightmares thinking about how you aligned the truss-work, you've either got some fantastic jigs, nerves of ice, or both. -

Turned out nicely, great build -
Gorgeous, always have a soft spot for part retracted undercart. Blurred runway is excellent.

Space Shuttle Launch Pad 39A with Challenger STS-6

I was going to say "You cold try a profile gauge. The teeth are very close and not too sharp, and you can (as it says) set the profile to fit the tank and that will avoid the spiral" but see that its been raised. Still, if you fond a long on e(and there are ones out there) .....- 2,528 replies

Space Shuttle Launch Pad 39A with Challenger STS-6

Manfred that is a very, very thorough approach you've taken. I wonder if, following your dentists experiment, firing pure water through an airbrush with a fine tip might help? It seems that you need some mechanical force after any treatment in a cleaning bath, and an airbrush and water is in most modeller's arsenals. You would also have good control over pressure and coverage and could avoid having to use any metal object that might mar the expensive castings. Ciao- 2,528 replies

Nice build Tim. There's worse forums out there. If some troll here has got your nose out of joint just ignore them. -
What about Martin Baker Masticator? At least it rhymes, and those BBC commentator types would never, ever mispronounce it ...

Guys Long time between posts and in the meantime my PhotoBucket account went west - so all the previous pics have gone Anyhow, I've started her back up. She's a 1/72 Italieri IDS Tornado that is being converted to a Canadian VTOL long range ship. Won't bore you with the dramas re the wings and my first attempt at setting them in, suffice to say the wings are now fixed in position. Pics below show where she is up to, ready for first major PSR sessions. One top view, one under view, and one showing the wing tip mounted jet pods (pick the Vostok components ) White bits are plastic card and filler. Hopefully, now the cat tower is done and the mojos back, more progress to follow. Ciao

Hello all Latest two finished. Both started as 1/72 out of box builds to get some mojo back, but one suffered major decal disintegration so turned itself into a semi-WIFF. First up, a 1/72 SMER Bloch MB 152. I bought this gawd knows how long ago (it had a price sticker of $1.50 on it) and it was the first time I've used Vallejo Model Air acrylics. Good having the eye dropper bottle but the paint is very soft. Don't know if I'll use it again. Three issues with the build: (1) I stuffed up the 3/4 windows by donating them to the carpet monster, so I had to put the canopy sitting a bit back - no, ClearFix wouldn't stretch that far; (2) as a result you can see where I cut corners with no seatbelt and where I didn't extend the cockpit floor, so you can see right through the wheel wells to the ground; and (3) the decals literally exploded when they hit water, so I had to find some substitutes. All I had were post WWII French roundels plus pre-war French EC 1 (or EC 7 I'm not sure) insignia, so she sports a hybrid pre and post war marking scheme on WWII colours. Anyway, photos below: Secondly, a 1/72 Revell Dassault Mystere IVA of the Patrouille de France. This is the old Matchbox kit re-popped and as you'll see the seams and canopy still managed to beat me. The large decals actually went on well considering its age (maybe the thicker ones last better) and my airbrush work is starting to improve. No issues here except my haste with the intake that made it set at a slight off angle. Again Vallejo Model Air acrylics. Photos below: Anyway, I'm happy with the both in the end. Ciao Andrew
