Now, this sort of project is right up my street. Pure Dagenham - i.e. two stops on from Barking!
Great choice of wheels, they really suit the project.
I'm definitely sticking around for this one. Anyone for more coffee? ☕

Hi Chris and . I'm primarily a car modeller but to my eyes they're a pair of fine models, nicely detailed and beautifully finished. Nice work.
-
Fine first effort, there'll be no stopping you now. 🙂

Another amazing piece of work by the Master Craftsman. The depth of detail, accuracy and finish just stuns me.

Wow, another beautifully finished Mustang! I have a particular fondness for '60s/early 70s Mustangs and this is a really good example. Lovely paintwork, detailing and general finish, great engine bay and interior.

Oooh that's just gorgeous! Lovely deep finish, nicely detailed engine bay, beautiful interior - excellent job all round, congratulations.

It actually reminds me of the Juggernaut from Death Race 2000.

Good heavens! I hope it wasn't parked outside Waitrose!

Wot he said, different categories of model will require different types of paint so best post in the required category for the most relevant help.
Welcome to the forum, I hope you enjoy getting into modelling!

Ingenious, well executed too. 1:1 scale Cobra replica builders had the same problem using the Jag diff/rear axle assembly, it was just too damn' wide. The normal (and crude) solution was to widen the wheelarches but they just didn't look right.
-
That's a lovely sight, a Jag diff hanging from a Mustang. Looks like it grew there!

Ditto from deepest Kent!

Just as the others have remarked, a super result from a really 💩kit. Details, especially chromework, well executed and not overdone. Great job all round.

Hello

Hi Mark, from another Kent inmate. I wouldn't say you were obsessed but 20 F4s is probably more than the RAF could ever muster! 🙂

Isn't it just!

This cataract operation... did they administer any drugs during the course of that...?

Not half enough!

It's incomplete (missing only a tyre so far) but there's sufficient there for my requirements. The plan is to build a 2CV-based street rod utilising the chassis, engine and running gear from the 'rod, mated to the 2CV bodyshell (or some similar amalgam of the two) and the project will commence late March once my sight is back to normal following the cataract operations (second one was last week and now my distance vision is fantastic but I need Dumbledore-like reading glasses to see anything close up!).
Could be fun...

I'm not normally a fan of weathering but that is REALLY effective!

Not half! There was a small reserve arrangement similar to that in my old Heinkel bubblecar - basically the engine just stopped and you reached behind you, turned a tap and the reserve part of the fuel tank opened up, the engine restarted and away you went in search of a fuel station.

Just acquired this at a ludicrously low price from the 'Bay as half of the components required for a project that will make my recent builds look positively sane. More when the other half arrives...

Not boring us at all good sir, it'll be good to see one of these go together. I've often pondered trying one myself.

Looks superb! All it really needs is for the rear bumper bar to be bent a bit at one end and for one of the rearlamp glasses to be broken. 😁
