  1. Stay tuned?? I wouldn't miss it for the world. I have to keep reminding myself what scale you're working in, the fine detail is incredible. However much you're paying the trained gnome to do the micro-engineering, it's not enough.
  2. Typically 1960s crazy colour scheme, nicely built buggy. There's not half enough of them around, I'll have to see if I can find one and have a go at a custom buggy myself. Lovely job!
  3. Flockin' 'ell! My first attempt at using flocking powder for carpets seems to have gone fairly well...
  4. Me too. At present I'm sticking to modelling cars but in the past just about anything went and I may yet branch out again.
  5. More slow progress. Interior vertical surfaces painted, centre console ditto. To whoever recommended Tamiya 3mm masking tape - thanks a million! I couldn't have pulled it off otherwise.
  6. Wot they said Geoff. I'm very much in the same position as you having returned to modelling after a long absence. I also struggle with eyesight problems and use an illuminated headband magnifier which is invaluable. As you said, it's all about enjoyment! What area of modelling interests you?
  7. Inspired creativity, brilliantly executed. Every detail is gloriously awful. I love the taped-up front flasher lens - and that carpet! Oooh that carpet... I've really enjoyed following the build and the end result is.....a beautiful grot-box.
  8. I'm not surprised you're happy with it. Very nice plumbing and wiring job, very neatly done.
  9. Ditto! The first generation Lamborghinis were incredibly good looking cars and all too rare now.
  10. Thanks! As the front seats are not yet fitted I'm tempted to try flocking the carpets. I've never done it before but I've acquired a sample of the correct colour 1mm flocking powder. Wish me luck!
  11. Sorry for the hiatus, Real Life interfered, plus the need to shelve two walls of the ManCave as I'd run completely out of stash space - a dire disaster if ever I saw one. Now it's completely shelved out with adjustable shelving I can get back to actually building something. After a long search for suitable colours I've started on the interior. The desired colour scheme is a mixture of dark blue and light grey upholstery, both colours really hard to locate in a satin finish. Revell supplied the Lufthanza blue but the light grey eluded me completely and I eventually unearthed an old mix I made when I was a teenager, surprisingly still viable and exactly the right shade. This will be a VERY slow process as it involves a lot of freehand cutting-in which I'm not awfully good at and can only undertake in short sessions before my 71-year old eyes start complaining, my head aches from the headband magnifier and the shakes start. I'm not being beaten by it though... More later, thanks for your patience.
  12. Nicely crafted pop-up roof section. Not sure about SunChaser though - I think SunReader might be more appropriate...
  13. Had several today of this nature... Service Unavailable The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later. Additionally, a 503 Service Unavailable error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
  14. Not now he hasn't! This is a build after my own heart and I'm looking forward to seeing the finished article.
  15. Nice example of IMHO the nicest of the Panthers.
  16. @Mike FYI if it helps, I run Linux on two PCs and get the red pulsating symbol on both, using Firefox and Chrome browsers.
  17. Ditto! There's something about the front end styling of the '57 Plymouths (Belvedere, Fury etc.) that really appeals to me.
  18. Good aftermorning Henrik! Welcome from a fellow returner and learner.
  19. I dunno why people are getting so bothered about it. Frankly men in our age group ought to regard the presence of something red and pulsating as a Good Thing...
  20. Thanks for that Keith, I'll watch it a bit later when I can give the time to it. I've already watched a couple of Isetta build vids and I'm not sure whether to be discouraged or inspired by them! I'm certainly learning a whole lot of new techniques so I think I'll go for the latter. I know my best efforts aren't going to approach the standard I routinely see both here and in these videos but already my results are improving massively as a result of them, so I'll simply enjoy the build and see how close I can get to them!
  21. I second that - beautiful finish, love the colour too!
  22. Just snaffled a pre-owned Revell 1/16th scale BMW Isetta kit from Kingkit. Delighted to find they had precisely one in stock... Now they haven't. Delighted as nowhere else in the country appears to have stock. I've always had a soft spot for bubblecars as my first car was a Heinkel/Trojan 200 and this should be a fun build, something a bit different to add to the stash.
