  1. I built this kit a couple years ago! I loved it. Was a nice, not too difficult project. The most time consuming part was the masking I found, but take your time and it should be fine! I have a Border models Lancaster that I have started, but I stalled on, that I will resume as soon as we've moved house next month. But this project of yours will be fantastic! Have fun!
  2. Dang! Solid work there, the figure looks like a piece of art! I DO believe I have that set as well!
  3. Werner's Wings just dropped the SH-60B interor. the F can't be far behind! Tehy also have the MH-60J conversion for the coastguard machine, with decals!
  4. I have the QuickBoost ventral fin, a very crude exhaust by GT resin, the Blackbox wheel bays, and brass landing gear plus Blackbox cockpit, and a lot of Eduard... It;s an aftermarket hog for sure. I'll see if I can find images of the intakes! Didn't realize they had released the exhaust already! This is a link to their instagram page (sorry!) https://www.instagram.com/p/CzbgWifoR54/?img_index=1 It shows the intakes...
  5. Cool about the helmets! The new items (intake and exhausts and such) were announced as future releases last week, so they likely won't be available till springtime, if then. Anyway, It'll be pricy if one includes all of it! H.
  6. ResKit is producing new tailpipes, intakes and wheel wells for the Thud as well... I have the kit, and a ton (almost literally) of aftermarket, but the new stuff from ResKit may well be worth it... Superb work so far, only comment I'd make would be the helmet. The helmet would have been taped with camouflage tape or painted solid green as it makes for quite an obvious target when white... Cheers Harald
  7. Only 2 gravity refueling points on the Mk. 3 variants (Mk.3, some 41's, 42, 43, and 48 I Believe), there are lots of individual variations too of course, Pictures are your friend.
  8. Umm, holy crap! Amazing job with what I know is a very though kit to build! I have a B and an F that I got as soon as they closed shop, hope I can get anything close to what you did! Awesome job!
  9. The seats are wrong, instrument panel is wrong, interior is incorrect, outside, single point refuel only for shipboard types, vents around engine and behind P1 seat, AC Generator bulge missing, only 5 bladed tail rotor, no strake, and only metal main rotor blades. If you're happy with that, it's a fine kit that fits together well, particularly for being so old. And I'm not being sarcastic or snarky, just pointing out the issues. For me, the number 1 Westland Sea King is the new Airfix iteration in 72nd, but it too has shortfalls. It lacks serious rotor details below the rotor head, details a smidgen coarse, but still builds to a fantastic aircraft. I've built 2 of the Airfix, Has.2, HC.4, Fujimi "Mk-43", and SH-3D "Apollo 13", several of the older airfix boxing (blech) and also a couple of the revell boxing. The revell kit is OK, but the interior detail is closer to 1/90 that 1/72, and the window configuration is difficult to cut nicely.
  10. They are all Sikorsky frames with "Westland" lookalike parts. It isn't a bad kit, but it has some wrong features.
  11. As far as the folding goes, in Norway, as I remember from long ago, they used to to do a fold to test the system occasionally, and it usually ended with a broken hyd line in the "spaghetti" around one of the spindles... Every time. Change a line out and try again! Still not for sale in Canada! But the HU.5 will be my first one!
  12. Thank you! Very thorough breakdown. The kit does indeed come with the newer composite blades, so would need to source metal ones. Superb reply! Cheers Harald
  13. Would you care to specify which parts are needed for say early RN Sea King? Cheers Harald
  14. I'm so jealous now it almost hurts... Superb work. Can't wait to get my mitts on one!
  15. most decidedly a CH-124 Sea King from Canada. The Sonobouy chutes under the belly are the give-away.
  16. This is going to be a Sea King (Long live the King!!) masterclass!! My favorite detail so far is the potable water fillerneck behind the top part of the air stair door! Awesome detail! Question, is there a part to blank the middle fuel filler (over-wing/gravity port) for the port side for the HAR.3/Mk.43 etc? (Not that that would be difficult to fill. I like what I see so far, and even IF I have gone away from multiple kits of similar subjects, this one I most decidedly will build several, if not more! My dad was a Systems Operator on the Norwegian Mk.43 from the start in 1971, till he passed away in 1993. So I have quite a strong bond to the machine. I fly helicopters myself now, but never had a chance to fly the mighty King. Looking forward to future installments!!
  17. So with my limited look at the sprues through the interwebs, I bet the "upgrade" to HAS.2 should be relatively easy. No real difference except for antenna fit, picture references are your best friend there. Further to, the major things I noticed with the videos are: Both locations of fuel filler (single point), 3 main fuel tanks, SAR windows. Extensive cabin fit, not sure if the boxing has the HAR.3/Mk.43 cabin fit, with wall and curtain, but shouldn't be hard. Also it has parts for the HC.4 in the box, not everything, but there are telltales on the clear sprue. My favorite part, was the cabin within the fuselage halves, this is going to be an awesome kit!
  18. The tailboom on the H145D2 and D3 are different from the H145D/BK-117. However the dimensions remain the same. The UH-72 Lakota is an off the shelf EC-145D with standard tail rotor similar to the BK-117. Only the D3 has the newer main rotor blades (at least to differentiate for the layperson). Cheers H.
  19. That's just stunning... super work sir! I especially like the bare metal around the exhaust ejectors. incredible subtle detail that makes the work pop so well!
  20. Can I just say, that this is beautiful? Awesome build. I did one 1/144 747-200 Classic from Thai Airways some 30 years ago, and it looked nowhere as good as this!
  21. Wow, what a superb build. I now may have to get one of these too!
  22. Don't mean to resurrect an old thread, but I just got the main kit, now I need some Aftermarket! The KA set us on the list for sure!
  23. I could not get my Canopy to fit, so mine is on the SOD for the moment. I bought it since it was cheap, and I like the Wildcat/Martlet. You seem to be doing an awesome job on yours!
