  1. Unfortunately the printed word started to decline back in the nineties. First off Rupert Murdoch and the others (working for Maggie) killed the print unions, thus destroying what little integrity the newspapers had. Then along comes Mr. Gates with his wonderful Windows. Wooohoooo said the MD's. For £30 for a programme and a temp from the office we can produce our own magazines, brochures, letters etc. Great. Smashing. Super. What you see before you is the result. Editors that solely work to a number of words count. Proof readers that rely on the computers dictionary and or grammar settings. Stuff that reads like it was written by a three year old. No style, nothing flows, hyphens in the wrong place, etc. etc. etc. Production run by a twelve year old with a degree. It took me 7 years of very hard graft to pass my Trade Exams and ultimately a Degree, all to learn the art of Composing Type, Page Layout, Typography, the Rules of Grammar and about a gazillion other things that go towards making a printed page look something decent. We got binned when the PC became cheaper than a months wage. I've given up with newspapers, most magazines aren't worth the paper they are printed on. As for radio, I kinda find the ones that play drivel in the background and go do something else. Apologies, that's my twopenneth. Regards Pete
  2. You got these IDF subjects mastered my friend. Another outstanding effort. Regards Pete
  3. Look pretty good to my eyes. It also looks a very comprehensive set. Well finished, well displayed. Can't ask for any more than that! Regards Pete
  4. Brilliant! The single figure really sets it all off. Regards Pete
  5. Excellently produced and displayed as always. With the added bonus of a simple, believable setting. Regards Pete
  6. Spot on! Fabulous finish overall but that dozer blade is brilliant. Regards Pete
  7. It's interesting and quite watchable up to now, so we'll give the rest a fair go too! As an aside, does anyone know what the "lumpy" helmets are all about? Some pilots have them, others appear not to. Anyways, enjoy! Regards Pete
  8. Be interesting to compare side by side footage of the old Lightnings from Binbrook going vertical. Regards Pete
  9. ROFLMAO! Stop the dust! Hohhoho! That'll be like stopping the Spanish Inquisition🤪. But good luck with it all. It looks fine so far, and apologies for poking fun! Regards Pete
  10. Fantastically well modelled and executed. Tells a very good story. Regards Pete
  11. Top marks for finding a markings scheme that's out of the ordinary and then executing it perfectly. Regards Pete
  12. A very fine display of your obvious skills. Thanks for sharing. Regards Pete
  13. Looks fine to these worn out eyes. If I may make a suggestion, the oil staining underneath would benefit from being "streakier" and in tones of brown rather than black. There are some pictures which show the undersides pretty liberally covered in gunk and others with just the odd streak. It's a case of your choice or at least your choice of reference pic. As for the gun/shell ejection residues, yes it's heavy, but practice will make perfect. Thanks for sharing. Regards Pete
  14. I'm looking forward to seeing this. I hope that it may explain the thought processes of The President and his Advisers when they went ahead with this thing after being told that it may just destroy the whole world. I guess it's maybe akin to the "Wet Paint" or "Do Not Push" thing. Someone's always gonna try it. Regards Pete
  15. I think I'll wait until I've seen the thing until it's worth commenting on. As to one being "better" or "worse" than others, I reckon you pays your money, you takes your choice and then it's a matter of YOUR opinion. I know the Crystal Skull episode takes a beating and it's considered way too far fetched, but without wishing to upset the believers in the Ark of the Covenant, isn't that piece of fiction just as far fetched? Who knows, and I aren't an expert by any means. I'll watch, I'll enjoy or I won't. Who knows? Regards Pete

    RIP Parky

I think, because he was a "proper" journalist he researched his subject and then just provided the ammunition so that they would look their best. A real talent that will be sadly missed. He's a hero anyway, cos he came from "God's own county" and he could play cricket properly. Regards Pete
  17. 'Tis a gladdening of the heart to see these taken down! I get plagued by this type of call, at least four/five a day. They're all Indian and they all start by saying "we aren't selling anything". You can usually spot them as it takes several seconds for them to answer when you pick up the phone. If I don't get a reply in 2 seconds, they receive one free lesson in Anglo Saxon. Stay vigilant chaps and have a great day. Regards Pete
  18. Very, very nice! It tells it's tale very well. Thanks for sharing. Regards Pete
  19. Hey, I'll come out of hiding and say how much I like both of these for differing reasons. The first, I think, gives us that "perfect" minds-eye picture of what an Allied AFV looks like. The second is a very sobering set of images. It certainly shows just how fragile our Armour was. A fitting tribute either way. Thanks for sharing. Regards Pete PS (I won't say anything if you don't regarding the lack of "tie down" on the stowage😜).
  20. When I was little, our family doctor drove a big old Bentley with the reg. SAY99. Worked with a chap whose mini was 5OUP. Regards Pete
