  1. Thank you for all your comments. Hi Davec, The cockpit detail is scratch built, and I did have a trailor ready for it when I started, but I can't find it now. Cheers
  2. I bought a ready made up Airfix Buccaneer 1/48 from a model show for £2.50. It had no wings, no undercarridge or seats etc, but perfect for my nose section model. I have scratch built the extra bits including the seat guns, and added decals from another kit.
  3. A lovely looking S1. Great build and finish.
  4. A great looking Buccaneer, well done. The colour scheme looks perfect.
  5. Hi Mark, if you have room for another, please can you add me to the list Cheers Bucc284
  6. That's a great looking Buccaneer, well done.
  7. Hi Mark, all the best with the build. I have checked my photos and I don't think that the RN Buccs had the MDC fitted until the mid 70s. The pic in the Aeroguide page 26 shows XT286 in 1972 with no MDC. Also the older style seats are shown well on page 54.
  8. I think it's the Video Indicator. This instrument is listed as "wide-band homer" and amplifies and processes signals ? It could be removed and reinstalled when needed. I don't think that it was standard fit by 1991. By this time a V/UHF control unit was fitted...I think? The photos below show a drawing of the Video Indicator. The 2nd is from an x gulf machine, with the empty instrument crate where the V/UHF has been removed. The last pic is the front starboard area, where (I think) the same V/UHF insrument was fitted , It is top left with 2 silver dials. I hope this helps
  9. Thanks Pappy, best of luck with the model. Bucc284
  10. Hi Pappy, I hope these photos help. The first 2 are port intake and the other is Starboard. The holes ( I think?) are air intake to the Spey engine and the vent is air outlet. The large hole is oval and about 45mm to 50mm wide. The smaller hole is about 25mm diameter and the vent 25mm high. As they are connected to the Spey engine I assume that all MK 2's have them. They are different locations on Port and Starboard to fit to the Spey. Cheers Bucc284
  11. Hi Omegaman, close ups of wing folds. I hope these help. They include some scratch building to add to the flightpath set. I also sanded the outer wing section so that the brass sits back. Any other pics etc please ask.
  12. looking very good. I like the idea of folding the nose.
  13. Cheers for the warm welcome, and thanks for your comments. The paint used was Xtracolor - X5 Extra Dark Sea Grey. I used the Flightpath detail set, and this includes the wheel chocs and intake covers. I added handles to the covers from fuse wire and thin card to form the middle bar. cheers Bucc284
  14. Hi, just learnt how to post photos ( fingers crossed ), so here are 2 shots of my Airfix Buccaneer
  15. Hi buccy mad, I have a drawing from a Buccaneer manual that might be of use. It shows the port side of the canopy. This side fires the Navigator's MDC. When the canopy is closed the Detonator Housing lines up with the tie beam to the rear of the front seat. I am new to this site, and i don't know how to post pictures. Please PM me with your email address and I will send a photo. regards Bucc284
