    Do you have any tips/ progress /recommendations on the One Man Model H.P. 42? I have the same kit.

      Hi Glenn,

      I have yet to commence work on this splendid kit. I will be doing the other version, Eastern not Western, which carried more mail than the European one and will need to modify the interior. Arctic Decals have done me a special 'Hadrian' G-AAUE set, but they also do a decal set for other Western types for this particular kit as opposed to the Contrail.

       

      As general advice I reckon it would be good to familiarise yourself with the subject by buying the Airfix 1/144 re-release. There is a lot you can learn from this process, be it paint choices or even engine exhausts. A bit like the classic sculptors that made maquettes of their work before chipping away at a massive block of stone.

       

      References are legion, particularly good ones are 'Aeroplane' "Classic Airliner or Aeroplane January 2002. Just picked two off the shelf of this last one so if you are in UK I can pop one in the post for you.

    Mr Hills, I also have the One Man Model 1:48 H.P. 42 kit and I plan on building a sectioned model that exposes the interior like this one: https://collection.maas.museum/object/241333 I also plan on purchasing the ArcticDecal set.
