    JMC Jags

Two 6 Sqn Jaguars climbing out from RAF Kinloss during their last deployment there. Practically finished - some small aerials and fire access panels to add but this is pretty much it. Acrylic on canvas 20" x 16"
  2. Hi Spike, Slight mix up - I saw your post in the 14 Sqn FB page and have sent you a message in FB - forgot out this site ! Let me know if you get it.
  3. Took some critique advice on this one and went for the whoosh factor. It has been bugging me since I finished it several months ago - now I think it is about right.
  4. Now't wrong with the Nimrod. A good artistic looking render .
  5. We never saw a Nimrod - just a red cross to show the picture hadn't posted properly to the thread.
  6. Nice - The Blenheim / Bolingbroke was a very photogenic aircraft .
  7. Nothing wrong with a bit of loose technique! It's still recognisable in shape and colour
  8. Just a red cross for the first one - but from the Hawks -"Merry Men" one it looks as though you have got the hang of creating digital art with the same visual appeal as conventional art work . I suspect that the aircrew might have to answer a few awkward questions if anyone happened to question the height they coasted in at
  9. http://www.ehangar.com/modules.php?name=Fo...opic&t=4961 Try this link to e-hangar . Look in The e-hangar forum under Review, Comments & Questions - Prototype Mosquito .
  10. Thanks to one and all. I'm glad it came out as I had imagined .
  11. Around 1964 a pair of Gnats pull g round the Lyn Ogwen corner on the A5 as they head back to base. Still to add the serial no. to the main aircraft but this is pretty much the finished painting. Acrylic on canvas 24" x 18"]
  12. Terry Sorry to hear about Joe - one of the truly great characters I have encountered in life. A highly accomplished artist whose prints I treasure. Got involved with him back in the late 90's or so ref automating the APM process on computer - not me directly - I just knew a friend who sorted it for us. I still turn to APM for answers and enjoy seeing a solid pencil image emerge from the plot as you add detail. Neil
  13. Nice to see the WIP run through Terry - you invest the right sort of time and care to the process. Joe's program is excellent for compositional set ups - still strange how your brain can invert the raw APM plot though!
  14. Cheers Terry, Yes - I like that last landscape one and it will have tanks . Must get down to some painting - have diverted into making a virtual 3D Lightning model in Blender 2.5 - it's only rough - like a basic plastic unpainted model but if I get the wings stuck on it will look good enough to spin around and serve as virtual artists dummy.
  15. Far simpler - use Photoshop or whatever to size the pic at 800 pix wide and post that to Photobucket . In PB left click on the "IMG" URL that opens when you hover below the photo. It will disappear and say "copied" Paste that URL in your topic here.
  16. Used the Guardbridge park and ride facility - worked exactly as advertised - buses service was excellent - no significant delay getting out of the car park at the end . The only muppet encountered was the prat behind me in the expected traffic queue at St Michael's junction who completely lost it with the policeman directing traffic . If he (the prat) reads this - I suggest you get anger management therapy soon (you twit!). As I departed the junction I saw one very p- d off policeman heading for the car behind me - would have loved to listen in - but had to go! My thanks to all involved in putting on a show and hosting it so well and amicably in difficult circumstances.
  17. Just a small Acrylic on canvas board 10" x 8" warm up to try out the orange / silver finish. This is just a test run prior to the big pics of Gnats in the valleys. 6/9/11 - edited -Thought I'd better stretch the rear pilot a bit - 4'6" might be a tad too small even for a Gnat jockey!
  18. Thanks - in the actual painting they will have tanks on - this was just a quick Photoshop think around. JM I will most likely paint all three versions so Cad West should feature.
  19. Thanks pte, I had a superb day there on top of the cilffs shooting Hawks in brilliant sunshine - if only I'd had a bigger lens - but I got enough reference to work with for paintings and that's what counted . The day ended with a Hawk running straight in over my head - once I'd packed the camera away of course!
  20. Made up the model and tried Photoshopping a couple of variants set at the Llyn Ogwen corner on the A5 road . I like all three possible compositions so may well bore myself witless painting gnats for a while!
  21. Thanks Scarlet Quite likely given that the Lightning is up there at the top of my top ten favourite aircraft - but at the moment I'm fixated on dayglo /silver Gnats of the early 60's
  22. Cheers Col, My own art "career" took a long mid life pause due to family - then work . Finally got back to it about ten /fifteen years later and more so once I'd retired . Hope you get back to the easel soon!
  23. Keith is a real gentleman and a very accomplished artist who's aviation paintings are top quality . I recommend a viewing if in the area.
