I just want to give the model some detail, at present the OOB parts look very toylike, but thats a great point concerning distance and well made Lockheed prototypes thanks (I was planning on making the prototype)

I am trying to find some kind of plan view of an F-94c Starfire showing rivet details? (trying to add a little interest to an 1/72 Emhar kit) or failing this a T-33 which although is a different aircraft may have some similar riviet pattens (I am not wanting to reproduce ALL the detail just alleviate and improve on the 'matchbox trench' like Emhar details. Hope someone can help?

Thanks very good! I built this as a child as present from my grandad (at the time it was a 'real' German plane to replace a blenheim that I had painted in a 'child like' luftwaffe mottle scheme!) I liked it then and seeing yours I like it now. -

I was considering altering the kit to make a type 800, I guess I could just cut and extend the fuselage a little and build up the engine bulges. All depends on the final Dan-Air scheme -

yes the wings are straight from the box. they just need clamping and gluing and a bit of TLC (i hope) as for the fuselage it is in good condition and although a few cm's in the middle of the body my need a bit of TLC to get them lined up the majority of the two parts look to have a good fit. (actually how would the parts have become so warped whilst packed? they have no 'bend' marks or stress marks??) -

Thanks Flankerman, good knowledge! so following that explaination, would you expect any Mig-29A's to wear the 'older' roundel type?

I am hoping someone may know why some 'modern' Ukrainian roundels have a blue outer ring and yellow centre (see picture link below) http://media.hannants.co.uk/pics/HD48003.jpg and some have a yellow outer ring and a blue centre (again see picture link below) http://www.aviapress.com/access/bgm/bgm72015.jpg I have kindly be given an 1/72 SU-24 set of markings to use on a Mig-29 but they display the blue outer and yellow centre which does not match any photos (all yellow outer and blue inner) I have found Also, concerning tail markings, some aircraft show a circular motif (blue and yellow) and some a shield like motif (why?) hope someone can help here! a bit confused.com

The earlier versions (700's) look to have a more pronounced 'bulged' hood over the cockpit (this is what I mean) Many of the photos (typing 'viscount dan-air in to goodle) look to be the later style with a longer fuselage but these photos from airliners.net show type 700 Viscounts I think. http://www.airliners.net/photo/Untitled-%28Dan-Air-London%29/Vickers-724-Viscount/0511388/&sid=8fccc98b9ba91d039fcde372a26325ba http://www.airliners.net/photo/Dan-Air-London/Vickers-708-Viscount/0217895/&sid=8fccc98b9ba91d039fcde372a26325ba http://www.airliners.net/photo/Dan-Air-London/Vickers-708-Viscount/1169962/&sid=8fccc98b9ba91d039fcde372a26325ba thanks for the info so far, much help is great in this instance.. -

Thanks guys, that website is good also. Enlarging the windows might be tricky, any hints so as to keep them looking the same! (some photos show certain ones larger than others? unless its jus a trick of the light?) -
Can anyone help with some information on 'early' type Vickers Viscounts used by Dan-Air I am wanting to use the Glencoe 1/96 kit as a basis to build a Dan-Air operated airlner and as it is a type 700 I want to finish it as an early version (bulged cockpit and shorter fuselage) I have called up a load of photos on airliners.net and they show a small number of '700' types but do state various model numbers '70'8 '724' what are the differences between these versions? hope someone can help. thanks

Just wondering if the Japanese would have added 'protection' to the Type 1 for example piling sandbags around the top of the tank? I have seen photos of US Shermans and other tank with bags strewn across them (I guess to increase protection from bullet ricochet perhaps) Also would camo nets have been used also? I am wanting to add a bit more interest to my Type 1. (not a bid AFV fan so scouring armorama and BM for interesting ideas)

great links guys! much appreciated for sure.

Detailing a 1/48 Snipe with Eduard Camel etch set?
phat trev replied to phat trev's topic in Aircraft Interwar
good stuff thanks -
Thats going to look great! Especially in Lakenheath colours...(am i correct?) Here is my F-100A from the same kit. (ok the FW number is incorrect so it has a little artistic licence but the tail and wings have been altered to show an early version) Painted in aerosol Tamiya Silver and left clean and shiny, I have an 1/72 Ertl version I will finish as a Thunderbird also.

Tamiya 1/35 Type 1 Ho-Ni Self Propelled Gun, anyone built one or anyone know of any build reviews online (a google search does not throw up much) Also, what schemes would it have had? I have seen a few yellow/green/brown camo versions online, is there a good reference anywhere?

Detailing a 1/48 Snipe with Eduard Camel etch set?
phat trev replied to phat trev's topic in Aircraft Interwar
thanks gcn good idea, its a very good website I had never looked on it until now. I have also found an etch set for a Camel from Poland but the price is so high! £18 or somthing, it does come with the interior all decked out but I am sure I can scratch most of it -
Would an Eduard Sopwth Camel Etch set be ok to use as a basis to detail a Sopwith Snipe (Interwar) I am guessing the as the two are 'similar' the Etch pieces could be worked and adusted to plans? http://www.eduard.com/store/Eduard/Photo-etched-parts/Zoom-set/Aircraft/1-48/Sopwith-Camel-1-48.html
