  1. No unfortunately, it seems first batch of kits includes the metal barrel, but subsequent production does not. I think this is a really poor way to treat customers who have purchased the kit after reading the reviews.
  2. Hi,

I will take the HB Flanker B & Osprey please @ new prices

    Best Regards,

    Paul

  3. Hi,

Sorry you are having to part with most of your collection. A couple of kits on their I would have bought, but have been sold.

I wonder if I could ask a favour please, I would like some hi-res scans of the painting guides and decal placement for the FineMolds Slave 1 kits; both for Jango Fett & Boba Fett versions.

Would that be possible please ?

    Best Regards,

    Paul

Might take me a few days but I'll see what I can do. If you don't hear back from me by Thursday give me a nudge!

  4. Hi, Part of my interest in model kits covers the Tamiya Big Scale formula one kits. I managed to source a couple of the newer issue 72D kits and have been wanting to buy some third party decals for it. I bought a set off the bay of evil and they arrived Today. These decals coverred the 72 and 73 seasons, and I was surprised to see they were not metallic finish but a solid gold finish. I know later seasons scheme was a solid finish, but wanted to check with others on here that correct colour would be a metallic gold for the 72 and/or 73 seasons ? Paul
  5. My Dad didn't put the tv on for Apollo 11, I was three years old and probably wouldn't have remembered; It would have been nice to know I was there when it was broadcast live on tv. He did remember and prepare for Apollo 12 and I remember waiting to see the broadcast but we know what happened. For Apollo 13 he probably didn't feel it was appropriate to see the unfolding situation. Paul
  6. Hi Julien,

I would like to buy the Patriot launcher set please @ £100

I may be interested in the Typhoon package £170 for the two ?

    Best Regards,

    Paul

  7. Hi, That really turned out great, I have the same kit in the stash, also have the eduard photo etch. Have been concerned about the difficulty in build the mast with it being in two pieces and needs a twist. How did you find that when constructing it ? Thanks, Paul

  9. Hi,

If the Revell He219 had the BigEd eduard set, I would like to buy it please.

    Best Regards,

  10. Dang, I had talked myself out of buying in January, but reading recent comments on this thread has changed that and I now have one of the moebius discovery kits on its way to me from US. I regret not buying the fine molds millenium falcon kits when they were available Paul
  11. Hi, That's looking fantastic, great build. Impressive just how much detail Matchbox managed to get in to such a small model, and particularly when they design their kits to be very easy to construct
  12. Excellent, just quickly browsed through the photos and you have done an awesome job. I already have the Thunder Models Scammel Transporter on order, but seeing this has added the recovery truck to my wish list. Thanks for posting it, inspiring. Paul
  13. I remember regularly seeing one of these cars parked down the road in my teens I live at weekends. I rode a push bike every where, but would usually stop before this car and admire it for a minute or so, before moving on. Was that that sparked me buying a Lotus Elise in better times (wish I never sold that so quickly, was considering a move to australia and mark 2 was coming out so look to sell the mk 1 and ship a new mk 2). I didn't like the Mk 2 in the end Paul
  14. Hi, Good catch for £25, I have both releases the only difference I am aware of is the decals, they are improved in 2011 version, although the original release were not bad decals It is a great space kit, it is a missed opportunity that Revell could have re-issued with changes to reflect the modifications to the design of the real life ISS. The retail price is very good, when you consider how much plastic and metal is in the box Paul
  15. Literally, just back home from this event, and thought it was awesome. Lots of info in the lecture from his early career, and a lot of detail on the Apollo 13 failure I didn't know. Probably information that is out in public domain, but I don't delve too deeply in to these things myself, but wonderful to hear it first hand from one of the crew himself. Theres another event in the pipeline for April, just announced with Gene Cernan, but that has either sold out already, or is close to selling out, price is a little higher at £95. I am really surprised Gene Cernan is doing an event in UK, I met him in 2004 in US, and he was very frail then, there was concerns he couldn't make that due to his health.
  16. I remember back in the late 70s early 80s, Humbroll used to do a can of luminous glow in the dark paint. It was really effective, don't know if elf and safety would allow it these days. Paul
  17. Very impressive, you have really picked out the detail with the weathering
  18. Just a quick update, both the Saturday and Sunday events are now sold out. Also it is likely than Brian Cox will be hosting the Q&A section on Sunday as well as Saturday (I know for some this will not be good news) Best Regards, Paul
  19. It looks like they now have enough interest for the Sunday to go ahead, and are now asking payment for the tickets. I have updated my original post with further details, and a flyer for the event.
  20. Update 20th June: This event has now sold out on Saturday and Sunday Hi, I have cleared this with Mike, I just wanted to post details of an upcoming event some here may be interested in: I have no association with them, other than I have attended a couple of their lectures in the past. http://space-lectures.com/coming_soon_25.html Just to make it clear, the original dates have already sold out. The organiser is looking at adding another lecture date (Sunday Nov 1st), once they have enough people interested to make it financially viable, the second date will go ahead. Until they know the event is going ahead, they are not looking for any payment, just confirmation in an email or over the phone that you are interested in buying tickets and how many places you want. Tthe event on Sunday will start a bit earlier, and will be without Brian Cox (Update 20 June: It is likely Brian Cox will be at Sunday event too). It is run by a small outfit, the website is primitive, but they have been doing these type of events for some years now. Tickets for the lecture cost £80, but includes an autograph; that is nearly half what it would cost for the autograph alone at private signings or organised autograph events. Personally, I think it is worth every penny. Jim Lovell's agent has said this is most probably the last time Jim will be doing this kind of event in the UK. They also have a lecture for Eileen Collins if you are interested in the Space Shuttle programme: http://space-lectures.com/eileen_collins_23.html Paul UPDATE 21st MARCH: Well it looks like they have enough interest now for the Sunday event to go ahead, and are asking payment for the tickets. The tickets cost £80 each, Please see flyer below for payment details, and please note that cheques need to be sent to the address detailed in the "Contact Us" section of their web site: (not to the Carleton Community High School where the event is to be hosted). http://space-lectures.com/contact_5.html Please include a stamped addressed envelope if posting a cheque, or add £1 to cover postage and packing. Current timings for the event are: - 11:00 - 11:45 a.m. - Photo Shoot - 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. - Lecture - 1:15 - 3:00 p.m. - Autograph Signing There is a Q&A session to be added to that schedule, so the timings will change (I expect the autograph signing will be moved later, and the Q&A session put between the Lecture and Autograph signing). You can follow them on twitter: @Space_Lectures
  21. Great news if the 1:72 Millenium Falcon is issued at an affordable price; Paul

    Lancasters

I was on an interior tour of Just Jane in August and this question was raised, they said the biggest outstanding works on return to flight are: - To sadly replace the bulk of the original electrical wiring in the aircraft as CAA would not permit the very old wiring. - To competely remove paint and re-paint internally
  23. Very nice cars, I only have a few diecast cars, I bought a couple of the Welly BTTF DeLoreans when they had them on a special at Modelzone. I think they worked out at something around £7 each, I was not expecting much from them, but was impressed with the detail on the cars. Paul
  24. Hi, I don't have the link, but just read a newspaper article stating the canadian lanc will not be at the centre on Monday or Tuesday. Probably best to keep tabs on the news and check directly with the visitor centre. Not the news you wanted to hear, but I booked the hanger tour a couple of weeks back and wished I never bothered. I was barricaded in a room waiting nearly half hour for the tour to start, and missed viewing the end of the first flight of the two lancasters. When the tour started was not much better, restricted to a narrow walkway on the side of the hanger. I could not see what the guide was talking about as I was near the end of the group, and with the activity at the time I could not hear him. I walked out and abandoned the tour. Personally I would avoid the hanger tours for the canadian lancaster, and view it at other events. If you can figure out when the lancasters will be flying at connigsby, just turn up there and view the hanger outside the fence, its only about six feet further back, there is a free car park just opposite. Do the hanger tour some other time in the future. Paul
