  1. Well I think that there are a lot of us who would be very happy to post that model (although we won't have been through the ordeal that you have by the sound of it)! Thanks very much for sharing and here's hoping that you get your modelling mojo back soon. Best regards Peter
  2. Two engines and no guns but what a super job! Thank you very much for sharing. Best regards Peter
  3. Welcome to the forum Howard. Lots of very nice people who are happy to share hints and tips. I focus on WW2 fighter aircraft in 1/72 scale and would describe my build rate as "glacial" at best! Best regards Peter
  4. Lovely job on a cold war classic (and a case study in perseverance)! Thanks for sharing. I am always nervous about spray can varnish (particularly when it's one that I haven't used before). I had a similar experience with Revell spray gloss that was fine on the upper surfaces but clouded all the decals on the underside). I now brush on xtracrylics gloss and finish with AK spray matt (which is more satin than matt). Best regards Peter
  5. Evening All Any room left for a little one? I quite fancy one of those KP 1/72 Seafire Mk 1bs. I had planned on FAA-ing a F4U 1A but now want to do that in US scheme. Best regards to all Peter
  6. Hi Brian, Lovely job. Superb paintwork and weathering. Thank you very much for sharing. I have the Tamiya 1/72 F4U 1A in the cupboard. I was going to "FAA" it for a Group Build later this year but, having seen yours, I'm not so sure! All the best Peter
  7. Really super job on a lovely looking aircraft! Thanks very much for sharing Best regards Peter
  8. Welcome to the hobby Bertie from a Kentish man living in West Sussex! Lots of very nice people on the forum, all willing to give helpful tips and advice. All the best Peter
  9. Super work Alistair. Almost makes me want to build something with more than one engine!! Thanks for sharing Best regards Peter
  10. Lovely little Zero! It's great to see how they can turn out with bit of TLC and knowhow. Like many of the contributors to this thread, I cut my modelling teeth on Matchbox. We had a small sweet/toy shop in the village that I grew up in and they stocked a lot of these kits (as well as Action Man). I do remember building the Corsair, the Indian radial engined Tempest and a bigger Bucaneer (which I think was one of a more expensive range of three colour kits). Also made a number of the armour kits (the Hanomag, Comet and T34 spring to mind). The owners of the shop were an older couple and he was a great advocate of the armour models (and probably retired on the amount of pocket money that I handed over). Thanks very much for sharing Best regards Peter
  11. Superb Gustav!! This has really cheered up a miserable grey morning on the South Coast! Thanks for sharing Best regards Peter
  12. A super trio of "deep blue sea" dogs! Thanks very much for sharing Best regards Peter
  13. Well, I've been a bit spoilt today. Earlier on, someone posted an excellent Macchi C202 and now we have this superb P40. Two of my favourite WW2 fighters on the same day!! Thank you very much for sharing Russ. Excellent tonal variation in your paint job! Best regards Peter
  14. Superb job on one of my favourite WW2 fighters. Almost makes me wish that I had an airbrush 😀!! Thanks very much for sharing Best regards Peter
  15. Super work (with an interesting piece of historically scene setting). Thank you very much for sharing. Best regards Peter
  16. Stunning job! Thanks very much for sharing. Best regards Peter
  17. Super job! Thanks very much for sharing. How did you enjoy the Arma kit? I'm thinking of having a bash at this one later this year. Best regards Peter
  18. What can I say that hasn't been said already? We are not worthy! Thank you for sharing. Best regards Peter
  19. Lovely job! Thanks for sharing. Totally agree re the moulded-on cannons. How hard would it be to produce them as parts that you insert right at the end? Best regards Peter
  20. Lovely job! Thank you for sharing. I'm in the middle of mine at the moment. Seems to have taken me an age to complete the interior! Best regards Peter
  21. Super job! Thanks very much for sharing. I really like your invasion stripes. They look like they've been painted on by ground crew with a 6" paint brush, broom, whatever. I'm currently building a P51b which has them and if they come out like yours I'll be very pleased! All the best Peter
  22. Hi Trevor, Welcome to the forum. Looking forward to seeing some of your builds (I focus on 1/72 scale WW2 fighters myself). There's plenty of advice and support available here (and you know you've arrived when people start taking the mickey)! Best regards Peter
  23. The skill of a surgeon (but I wouldn't go up in it)!!😅
  24. Looking really good! I've never made an Academy kit but this one looks nice (horrible word I know) and relatively problem-free. Does anyone actually use Pledge on the floor?!! Apologies Winenut. I hadn't read far enough down the thread to see the post-accident picture. My "looking really good" comment must have seemed a little odd. Hope that the patient is on the mend. Best regards Peter
