Our hobby can be very expensive at times, but the price of model railway items is eye watering. This must have a big effect on the turnover for retailers. Hattons fall out with Bachman cant have helped either.

For the builders of 'mundane cars' there's an ebay seller (not me!!) that apparently has 4 of these available for the above price with free postage. As these have been fairly rare in recent years & have been fetching daft prices (the next cheapest I found on there was twice the price) it seems a good deal - & the seller has 100% positive feedback so it should be legit.....

It's a shop in Malton, North Yorkshire. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

That’s good news regarding the XV Sqn markings!
Any clues as to when the kit will be available for purchase?
I asked one of the Airfix reps at Telford when it would arrive and was told the second week of December.

Managed to go both days this year, full day Saturday and 3hrs Sunday while my wife went shopping. Very busy Saturday, with my usual gripe about uncontrolled ruck sacks and people who don't know what soap is. Only spent £10 on plastic, which was on a slightly started Bandai AT-AT and a bargain given it's retail price of £70 ish. All my other purchases were mostly consumables. There was some stunning models on show and a couple of highlights for me were the Vaillant Porsche 934 that won gold and the motorised Dambusters Lanc on the IPMS Belgium table, which was fascinating to watch and hear it go through it's engine start up and shut down.

Looking at the list of traders at SMW I notice Hattons are shown as attending.
Is this their first time, or have they been "on a break" for a while?
And whether or not @John Tapsell had a word, many thanks to whoever at IPMS put the individual hall floor maps back on the website!
First time for Hattons, Jadlam and emodels, I think?

1/48 FG1/FGR2 Phantoms have already been released by Corgi. I appreciate there is a lot more to a plastic kit than a diecast model, but they have obviously already done their basic research and design. Watch this space I suppose......

What does follower / subscriber actually mean in the context of this amazing offer? never used them before but if I registered now would that qualify, seems a bit cheeky I know, but am never one to resist a bargain
Also, if its on their website does it mean its in stock? this is not always the case with some dealers.
Thanks. The offer is open to anyone, they publicise their offers on their Facebook page and by email is you subscribe. If you click on the item you want, a pop up will appear and tell you how many are in stock. Out of stock items are normally removed from the site.

I ordered a Subaru WRC 99 and added another as my free kit on Wednesday, both delivered in a sturdy box at 9am this morning. Great service and some Haribos in the box too.

You pay for one and then add a note in the 'customer notes box' telling them which kit you want for free and they will send it with the one you've paid for. (Dont add the free kit to your basket, just tell them in the note section which one you want.)

Kent Models are doing a buy one get one free on Tamiya (kits, paints, tools etc), see below: -
"From now until the 19th we are running a buy-one get one free deal on everything Tamiya, all you need to do is add one kit into your basket and then let us know in the customer notes which one you want for free!
Please note that both kits have to be of the Tamiya brand and your free kit has to be of a lower or equivalent price to the kit you will be paying for, this deal also runs while stocks last so if you have had your eye on something for a while now it’s best to jump on it quick.
Well? What are you waiting for! Click the link below and start hunting for some absolute bargains..."

I've just Googled "Helicopter on a lorry" which brings up a lot of photos of various rotary craft being transported by road.
Chinook, Merlin, Apache, Sea King, Mi8 and many more.

Mine arrived just before Christmas (great service from Tiger Hobbies) and it will be built as the Malcolm Wilson Q8 car.
Hopefully we will see some BRC decals from the likes of Reji Model. A Bertie Fisher Toughmac livery would be nice.

Excellent build and a nice bit of reference as I'm building a 10 AEF Chippie at the moment. Good info about the wings as that's my next job.

Vulcan to the Sky Trust have got 20% off everything. The Airfix Vulcan is reduced to £47.99 and If you add a keyring for £3.00 it takes you to £50.39, you then qualify for free delivery.

Superb couple of builds. The small details like the seat straps pulled up over the seat head box are spot on, something often missed by modellers.

I built the 1/43 Le Mans Moretti car many years ago. The 333 SP is one of my favorite cars at Le Mans, watching them screaming down from the Dunlop bridge and lighting the brakes up as they braked hard for the Esses (in the days before the current track layout).

Nice Lightning.👍
Just one observation, the ventral strakes have been fitted the wrong way round.

Nice Lightning, but a bit clean.😂
I worked in ASF, 83-87.

That possibly explains why they stopped selling new Airfix kits?
