  1. Im not sure if this is of value but you could equate the 'white' interiors to the methods used by the British Army in the Cheiftain era. The Commanders and Loaders hatches were green on the inside (to reduce visibility when open) but the turret interiors were generallly painted aluminium/silver so as to aid vision when closed-down. The meagre interior lighting could be a real pain at times. The same could be said of WW2 vehicles with hatches not normally open (such as the loading hatch at the rear of the Tiger turret) being painted white on the inside. Steve
  2. I wanted to capture a moment out of battle using a King Tiger and an Opel Blitz. There is no specific time but both have been ravaged by conflict and lack of maintainence.
  3. Hi all, A recent small diorama of Russian Infantry attacking a PAK38. This was intended to be during the fall of Berlin in 1945 but the thought of modelling buildings overwhelmed me, so this is on the outskirts of the city. My photography skills are clearly on a par with my modelling skills.......😀 Apologies for the unfortunate timing.......
  4. Thank you; I will try this at the weekend 👍
  5. Too right. Yellow handbags were just the right size for stowage bins, Grolsch came in bloody great crates which was OK if you were on the ARV. And besides, Wolfgang sold Herfies so it was easy to replen.
  6. Thank you Dennis. I was in your fair city with work a few years ago and spent a very pleasant St Paddy's day in Millenium Park - great times 😀
  7. I think that this is the best you are going to get. The barbette door was only opened for functional testing and live firing as the germanium thermal head is crazy expensive if damaged so we only ever opened the door when absolutely neccesary. If you are modelling it in a passive mode then the head parks at about a 25 degree up angle and only aligns when the gun kit is active. Steve
  8. Hi, Can somebody please point me in the right direction for a supplier of a pair of resin anchor hawse for the Trumpeter 1/200 Bismarck. The standard kit is wrong and although Scaledecks mention the modified hawse in resin on their web-site it doesn't seem to be something they actually sell. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks - Steve
  9. Hi all, First of all thank you for allowing me to join. I've been back into modeling, mainly WW2 AFV's for the last few years but work and family keeps getting in the way so its is slow process. I've recently finished a 1/35 King Tiger diorama, and currently have a 1/35 FAMO on the bench and a 1/200 Bismarck (and Pontos PE set) that i've just started to prep the hull for its first primer coat. The plan is to continue with the AFV's and complete Bismarck in around 18 months. I'm also an ex 'Tankie' (3 RTR) so very familiar with Chieftain Mk 5 to 11 and Challenger 1, plus the odd 432 and 434, so I may be able to contribute in these areas. Currently living in Fife Scotland. Steve
