  1. Thanks for posting Geoff, nice pics. I had hoped to sneak out for this but work got in the way and could only catch the odd glimpse from the Lab window. A sad day, the overhead is getting quieter and quieter. When I arrived in the area 5 years ago the base seemed a bustling place with the 3 Squadrons at the time and something always in the circuit. Lets hope the base has a future and we get some new squadrons to refill the space. Cheers MarkC
  2. As others have already said - looks great. Got the Airfix version on my workbench at the moment and was thinking of the same scheme for that. If it looks as good as this I'll be pleased. Mind you at my glacial build rate it may be some time. Mark C
  3. Hi Andy, I think ( and emphasize the word think) that if it is from another EU country then it would be duty paid in country of origin therefore nothing "extra" extra should be due. I don't think this is not the case for goods for resale though. Hence the popularity of the "booze cruise" of those down south when exchange rates where in our favour, all for personal use officer hic. I'm ready to be shown to be spectacularly wrong on this one though, so don't take just my word on it. cheers Mark
  4. Looking great so far. I really like the stressed skin effect. Hopefully it'll capture the feel of the real thing well. Cheers MarkC
  5. Good looking start. I have one of these with the various add ons in the stash as well, so I'll follow this one with interest. Cheers MarkC
  6. Thought I'd heard something clattering about this evening, had just assumed it was some RAF/AAC/FAA types. Now that its dark on the way home from work its difficult to see if there is anything interesting in. Thanks for the Info. MarkC
  7. all of the above. Great way to make an entrance. I also like the MB339, especially the fading on the tip tank daygo, very nicely done. Cheers for sharing MarkC
  8. I like it, great modelling, accompanied with excellent presentation. Cheers MarkC
  9. I've been toying with the idea of one of these a possible next build (but in a 12 sqn guise) Will be watching with interest, hope it goes well. MarkC
  10. Looks great to me. Nice painting and finishing. Cheers MarkC
  11. I second that one, I thought I had enough in then found later I needed extra so cunningly managed to squeeze the spine of a 1/72 white metal seat into the nose wheel bay. Still the model still teeters on the brink with a move to tail sitting at the slightest provocation. Hope it goes well though, it's a nice kit and I enjoyed building it. Just be careful when joining the rear fuselage to the front, the match up is not the greatest. Cheers MarkC
  12. An amazing tally for the year Jen. Not just in terms of numbers but also the quality. All the best MarkC

Hi Tony, I did use a very thin (~1mm) masking tape to follow the compound curve (Is this what you meant?). However the main issue was that I don't think I got a good seal between the tape and the fuselage surface so had some bleed underneath. This was combined with some over enthusiastic spraying leading to some build up along the edges of the masking. Must take more care next time. Anyway had some time to get back into this one a little after many distractions in the first two thirds of the month. Managed to tidy up the paint job a little, still not great but not too bad if you look at it from a distance out the corner of your eye. Decals now on and currently waiting on the wash to dry. I will try to post some more pictures over the next day or two as I will hopefully have some tome to spend on it. Aiming to get it completed before going back to work on the 5th. Cheers for now MarkC
  14. Excellent haul for the year Oz. I think my favourite is the Belcher Bits Lynx, but it's a close run thing with the D-Day Seafire. Cheers MarkC
