  1. Fantastic job, this thread brings back some memories. Some 15 years ago or so I was cut up on final approach by this Chilton. Not that I'm still bitter or anything 😆
  2. Not sure if that was a genuine question or just a chance to talk about how good looking the Mosquito was, but surely the Beaufighter got its name from being a fighter developed from the Beaufort?
  3. Always nice to see the whirlybirds being represented - glad you came back to this labour of love and will be great to see it completed
  4. Really pleased to see this back up & running. I have one on the bench so the thorough explanation of your build will be really useful!
  5. Really nice job. Love to see helicopters on here, feels like they are a bit under represented. I have some of these in the stash and the canopy really is awful, so that will be a good test of my modelling skills when the time comes! What technique did you use to finish the glazing? I’ve had a go at one canopy and I just can’t quite remove the last bit of haziness.
  6. I’m also a new re-entry and working on the starter kit version of this alongside a Spitfire. I have a very similar setup (evenings only so strictly quiet tools!) I’m only just ahead of you at the “what exactly should be green and what should be silver?” stage of building the cockpit. I will tag along for helpful hints such as those provided by @Steve Coombs Lastly, thanks for posting this, don’t tend to see many newbie threads here so don’t often get to see advice that is useful for my experience level!
  7. That is one shiny table! It gives a lovely “wet ramp” effect 😆
  8. Good advice, but i'm actually really pleased with the Air Glaciers boxing. In addition to the air ambulance interior it contains an extra sprue that originally came with the EC635 boxing. This has all manner of aerials and attachments that means many configurations will be covered OOB. I'm sure it won't be as easy as that when it comes to it though 😆
  9. Another lovely helicopter @BritJet. All I can say is that you have inspired me somewhat 😬 maybe one day (not soon) these will form my own fleet of air ambulances!
  10. Very nice, I hadn’t realised that this kit had both long and short nose options. You’ll have to do an islander to keep it company now!
  11. Looks really nice & by what I’ve read it’s not the easiest to fit the cockpit to fit. Where did you pick up the decals? Is there an Air Ambulance set? There are plenty of these operating in the UK, could be a nice little collection if someone has the patience!
  12. This is turning out quite differently to what I was expecting when you said you would be building this one “OOB” Keep up the good work!
  13. Long time lurker, first time poster here (hello everyone). I’ll enjoy following along with this. Since returning to the hobby recently Ive been drawn to the early WW2/ BOB stuff for some reason. Once I’m done with the obligatory apprenticeship of mki Spit & Hurricane those wonderful Bristol contraptions are calling me. Maybe it’s the faces that only a mother could love? Maybe it’s that I hadn’t heard of most of them until a few weeks ago! (As with the defiant that is already in the stash). Best of luck!
