  1. I agree, wait for the Kitty Hawk. Or any other new tooled offer.
  2. I built a greek viper with Have Glass. I tried out several „smoke“ paints. Some of them are slightly purple-ish, some of them grey-ish, with different grades of covering power. I will check which one I used and get back to you, if you‘re interested. There is quite a difference in appearance depending on the lighting. But it‘s the same in real life:
  3. Did you not run into alignment problems with the wings swept back? I had to abort my build due to this and I am beginning to think it‘s due to my own stupidity…
  4. I tried to fix up the Italeri. If you want the wings swept back stay clear from it, the pivot points seem to be wrong and will result in a MiG-23-wing. Other than that it can be done, with a lot of surgery, scribing, scratchbuilding and Resin parts. I binned my project because I glued the wings before realising the wrong alignment, salvaging the resin bits for a future build with a different kit (hello Airfix, if you read this). Backdating the Revell GR.4 seems the best option. Eduard has a great big sin set for the armament of the GR.1. - And inflight is the best way to showcase an aircraft, but that‘s my personal opinion.
  5. You mean the new-tooled 1/48 they will release this year together with a Jaguar as surprise? 😵‍💫😜
  6. Congratulations @Ian, extremely well done! The weathering is absolutely wonderful, in the right spots, smoothly blended but still well pronounced where it needs to be. Splendid!
  7. I know it has been done before but I love the sound: BBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTT! Eduard is going to be happy to sell all this weaponry if this GB gets through 😂
  8. Would like to show up at the merge with a NAWDC / NSAWC Viper or the Top Gun Hotrod from a Tamiya 1/48 boxing. 🌞
  9. Looks like I got posted to this GB for my first ship tour 🫡. All the modern pointy ones are possible, however I may choose the E-2C Hawkeye with the 8-blade props.
  10. It‘s exactly the „light“ part of the reading I am mostly interested in! Want to build Tamiya‘s Cat shot Big Fighter with all the lights on. One day, when I have the skills. Later. When my grandkids (not even born yet) will be grown-ups 😂
  11. Congratulations @LorenSharp, this is an exceptional result! I love it 👍🏽I missed out on this build log, enjoying it right now.
  12. I decided against the forest. The difference in scale and the forced perspective I wanted to create just do not work as intended. Anyway, regular stand as usual for the Viggen. Quite a number of things to improve on withthis build (I am not going to point them out), but I hope you like it nevertheless:
  13. I am currently working on a southern swedish forest the Viggen will be flying over I really enjoy building trees!!!
  14. Thanks for asking @Aigore! Yes its very alive and updates will come soon!
  15. The new tool Airfix 1/48 Jaguar? Yes I would build it….
  16. Tack så mycket @Klaasdebouwer! Well, try it for yourself - it‘s not that hard!
  17. I don’t know what this boxing contains. All I know is that in my boxing there are fins for every variant, you want a pre-„harmonization“ AJ-37 I assume? For decals and upgrade there is a swedish online shop with all that your heart desires (all the Moose Republic decals for example). I have now a contact of an ex Viggen driver if you have questions.
  18. Great idea! Out of curiousity: Which kit are you planning to use?
  19. Thanks Charlie. I used Vallejo model air acrylics. They have their weaknesses, but in general I get along with them pretty well. The day I have a spraybooth, I may try MRP or MrColor or Tamiya. the colour tones are: regular black nato brown - 71.249 - fs33051 us light green - 71.137 - fs34151 us forest green - 71.294 - fs34079 the fs colours dont really always match what the instructions say, but they look alright to me for a start: oil paint will be used to change tones and for weathering.
  20. I like it a lot! Now she will have time to fully cure before anything else happens.
  21. And then it was time to unwrap: i loved this process even more!
  22. It‘s been a while… At least the primer is fully cured! And there I went with a masking set, multiple rolls of Tamiya masking tape and great enthousiasm. A few WIP shots: Loved the process!
  23. Nice to hear from you @Bertie McBoatface! You know, I like fixing problems. But this one was, with my current skill set, and the huge amount of cement within a big an critical area, simply beyond repair.
  24. Hello @stevehnz, don’t worry it felt great! Now to be fair with Italeri, I should have checked and corrected before committing to a looot of glue with the wings. Good thing for you, now you know! Plus if you build the jet with wings swept forward it PROBABLY won’t be a problem.
