  1. Richard Is the Tamiya shop in Ledras St. open during regular hours these days? I think I remember you saying it can be a bit hit and miss possibly? Going there next week with a bit of luck.
  2. Right oh, currently tinkering with a 1/24 Tamiya CLK DTM 2000, Team Original-Tiele. The blue and white one with the 'exposed engine' paintwork. This 'un .... I do not have access to any Tamiya paints at the moment, and the instructions for the basic white body colour calls for AS-20 (White) followed by a coat of TS-13 (Clear). Are these colours basic plain White and Clear, or are they Metalic/Pearlescent White and Clear? If they are are basic plain colours I will grab some aerosol paint from the local hardware place down the road. Thanks much for any help.
  3. Cyprus is rather nice at the moment, spiffingly warm. Will be off to Nicosia and Limassol in the next few days to stock up on some model paints and buy a kit or two, just to keep my hand in (as you do). Staying at my families place in Paphos.
  4. They did indeed. We once had Lesley Joseph walk around the place (Dorian, in Birds Of A Feather) wearing a 'tasteful' leopard skin coat and black stockings. I remember that because she had 'laddered' the back of both stockings somehow .... I don't think she realised at the time
  5. Yup .... ....and an element of that too! (Though to be honest, Norwich is one of those small 'low key' type of airports, it's generally pretty good and alot less hassle than somewhere like Heathrow, Gatwick etc etc. Thankfully!! ).
  6. Today. At Norwich Airport at the mo, flight leaves in a couple of hours.
  7. Yup. Leave the front part of the slot alone.
  8. If you want an in-progress build, here's mine from a while back (with detailed cockpit shots I took at Coltishall) Jolly 'ole Jag build: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....622&hl=neil
  9. I think we have an ex Saudi Lightning at the museum here in Norwich, if I am that way I will take a look. Going from memory, there may be some hardware slung underneath it.
  10. Right oh folks, thanks for the replies. I will drop him a line and let him know, I think he may of possibly been considering a Shackleton in 1/48.
  11. Had an enquiry from a customer, anybody know if the engine nacelles of the Lincoln and Shackleton are the same or similar?
  12. Andy They look pretty close to me, maybe just a fraction high possibly, but that is all. Actually, there should be some brass wing fences on the photo-etched sheet included with the T2 conversion set itself.
  13. Ta folks. The scheme was masked up using thin strips of Tamiya tape, the gaps in between then filled with normal tape and Maskol type stuff. Wasn't too difficult as such, just bloomin' time consuming! Actually Richard, I bought that kit from Nicks Models, in Limassol, about 3 yrs ago, then brought it back with me to the UK after I had built it. (Had to get the paint from Nicosia though ).
  14. Built from the Hasegawa 1/72 Su-27 kit, more or less out of the box except for the Ukrain colour scheme and the markings were a combination of hand painting and various bits of decals. The burnt metal areas were achieved by first spraying with Alclad, then coating various sections with gloss varnish tinted with browns, greys and blues. Love that camo scheme . (Bugger to mask up though!).
  15. Short clip of a Jaguar 'M' being launched and recovered, looks slightly odd with twin nose wheels and single main whels. (Not a 'proper' Jag far as I am concerened .... )
  16. Cannot imagine what you are trying to imply there Steve ....
  17. Ta peeps. Certainly .... I'll put together a few pics sometime when I get a spare mo, and put them in the Tips section or something.
  18. Another oldie dragged up from the past. Based on the 1/48 Tamiya Fw 190 D9, with the FM engine and gun bays and also a Cooper Details cockpit set (clever bloke is Roy!) with the tail modified to represent the Ta 152 type. Markings/colour scheme are based on the Kommandeur decal sheet, with a large portion of the fuselage left in primer and most of the underside of the wings left in bare metal. Before you say it, yes, the pitot tube is broken .
  19. Problem solved.... http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/?FULL=X48044
  20. You'll be walking to Club Night tomorrow then......?

Here's a link to RR299, you can just make out the three lights. http://www.mossie.org/images/donated_image...we/large/m4.jpg

    Nav lights

I 'think' they were fairly standard (though I am quite happy to be corrected!), to be honest it's something I have never looked into closely before!!

From what I can work out, the under fuselage lights are Red/Blue/Yellow. Although I have no photos of this. Maybe the Blue should be Green instead, dunno!

    Jaguar kits

I heard there's a resin two-seat conversion, must try and find me one . Trumpeter are (allegedly) doing them in 1/32 at some point. Resin masters do exist. Never heard of him .
  25. Yup, could be a trick of the light. (Quoting the SAM profile on the blue).
